What HP numbers to expect

Hi everyone!

My Camaro SS LS3 is now about five years old, and I'm ready to up the power a little. If I go full long tube, hiflow cats, hi flow mufflers and a decent tune, can I expect to break 500 hp? Not ready for FI of a hotter cam yet.

Thanks!

No. My 1LE only puts out 428rwhp with long tubes no cats cold air intake and a Dyno tune

OP wasn't asking for rwhp. He was asking for just horsepower.

Ok for the crank hp I would say YES ) for the rwhp you gonna be slightly above 400, like the other memebers said.

Well I don't use crank HP because I don't drive a Honda Civic and am not 12

I'm pretty sure no one on this forum drives a honda civic or is 12, so i dont know what youre trying to imply. The OP asked a simple question that unfortunately comes up with 200 different answers in just this forum alone.

If I was OP, I would go ahead with the plan; z28 or CAI intake, 1 7/8 ceramic coated headers, your choice of cats to a 3inch catback. Throw in a resonator x or h pipe for some tone correction... But even then it would be hard to decide what brands to go with because everyone claims different gains

And noooooooone who knows anything about cars measures crank HP was my point. Because you can't measure it in a street car unless your dumb enough to take the engine out and dyno it just to have a number no one cares about

but obviously the OP was starting with his 426 base and asking if the mods would take him to 500. No one in their right mind would think he was talking about RWHP.

he doesn't have to, considering he has an LS3 car and we all know that was the advertised HP

Crank HP is only EVER relevant if your wondering about fuel supply, clutch strength or transmission rating

Plenty of people care about crank HP.

What if i decided to take out my entire drivetrain and put it into another car? Like a miata. I'm going to care about the crank more than the rwhp at that point.
