Be happy with your Camaro. I love the body style and the v6 has very respectable power, the equal than the 2005 Mustang GT I sold several months ago which was car of the year in 05 by most magazines I think. Also the Camaro v6 will handle better than most cars.
Performance these days is amazing to me. Your v6 is making over 323 horsepower and 270 ft lbs of torque. That's respectable and amazing. A few decades ago(1984) I bought a Mustang GT with 175 horsepower and 225 ft lbs of torque which was stock for the 5.0. Quarter mile was 16.1 same as a Ferrari 308 if I remember correctly. I bought it because it was faster than the Camaro with the v8. The quarter mile time for the v6 Camaro of today is about 14.1 which is a fast car. Makes me wonder how fast the cars are that the people own who are asking you why you didn't get a v8. You will enjoy that car very much. Unless you are worried about a second in the quarter mile you have plenty of power so a v8 isn't necessary. Also over 99% of the time you aren't using all of your power nor is anybody else. if like many of us here your an enthusiast then buying the v6 is not an option..YOU WILL get laughed at and talked about at car meets..beacause the v6 IS NOT a muscle car
buy the v8 then the haters can say nothing..if u just need a nice car to get from A to B then buy the v6. |

I've owned both, and love my V8 however the V6 was a great power plant too. Buy what you want and can afford and be happy. They are all nice cars, half the people on the road don't know what you have and the other half don't care. If you're happy that should be all that matters.

I've never had anyone ask me what's under the hood. That's probably because they can hear what's under there
But to be honest, if I buy all my cars slightly used. It makes no sense to me to ever buy brand new and pay all the upfront cost when someone else could pay it. I saved about $20K an only had 16,000KM on it! If I were to buy new, it would have had to be a V6 and I probably would have always wish I had gotten the V8. That's just the way I am. I had a base model Grand Prix once and was not happy everytime I saw a GTP go by me. So I upgraded and learned from that. Now I wish I had the 6th Gen because the interior is so nice. Performance wise I'm totally fine with my 5th Gen.If you enjoy it, enjoy it. Not too many cars out there where the V6 version looks pretty much the same as the higher end model. Camaro rocks. J

Dont see anyrhing about engine cylinder count in the definition of a petrol head, thus you are wrong. |

Not a V6 hater myself, but a couple questions come to mind.
1 Would you buy a V6 or a V8 if the prices were the same? 2 Would you buy a V6 or a V8 if the prices and the performance number were identical? 3 Would you buy a V6 or a V8 if the V6 cost more than the V8 ? 4 Would you buy a V6 or a V8 if the V6 made more hp and torque than the V8? 5 Will the V6 guys tell the I4 guys they shoulda got a v6?
