Plan A- Take the Camaro because it is totally worth gazing at for 6 months.
Plan B- Move to a warmer climate.

GOOD NEWS is, you order BEFORE the price increase, you are price protected.

Might wanna re-think that.

The Rally Yellow Camaro SS RS I ordered had a target production date of this past Monday September 14, 2009. I was told I should have it end of the month or beginning of October. The point of the car for me was going to be nothing more than a dry day summer toy, most likely weekends. After giving it a great deal of thought, I could not see the logic in taking the car this late in the year only to be putting it in storage a couple of weeks later (I live in Michigan), making car payments, and paying car insurance. The only benefit I could see taking it now would be the ability to gaze at it in the garage. As much as I wanted to have it this year to do just that, gaze at it, I could not justify it. Needless to say, it is going to be a long 6 months waiting to re-order it again in mid February. I figure this will give me time to save more of a down payment before it arrives late March early April. Looks like I will be joining you guys, but just a little later than I had originally planned.
Don't sweat it. I did the samething after having one ordered and everything getting screwed up. They make them everyday and will be much easier to get in the spring. After doing some reading I think I'm waiting two years because It looks like more power might be coming down the line to compete with the 5.0 mustang coming out.

Imo take it cause i can assure you there will be 5 guys chomping at the bit to take it.

You do what you need to do! Personally i am taking mine... delivery like Fri. 18, 2009 and live in northern ohio so its put away during rain, snow, and salt... cause I have a 1994 Z28 Convertable (Black), and some years no miles and other very little,,, the car has 7400 miles on it... and yes it sat in garage for several winters while I still made payments on it.. you sound upset at the wait... I think we all waited...order my 1SS june 1st 2009

Saving up for a down payment is the same as a car payment, plus you would have 1 year of the loan paid off. Either way the car will sit in the winter, unless you plan to drive it.

I've never understood parking your car for the winter.... It's just a car, drive it...

You should see the underside of my 1994, then you would understand parking a car for the winter.

I almost wish there was plastic that was along the entire bottom of these cars. That may save them.
