We've got to organize some Camaro owners' (or maybe general american muscle cars) meeting somewhere in Europe then (i.e. after we get our own)

It's been up for discussion but most definetly! I'm going to have to wait for a while thought since it seems I won't afford my Camaro, or any new car for that matter in the next few years.

That's what banks and credits are for. To afford now and cry later while paying
And maybe I'll go after some used, 1-1.5yr Camaro, most favourably already in Europe and modded to european standards (lights). Shouldn't be too expensive

Weeell I haven't got a steady job at the moment and will be in school for at least two year starting this fall so I'm afraid that unless I win the lottery the Camaro has to wait.

Same here (except I'm planning to finish my master's thesis in summer'09), I meant getting a credit right after starting a full-time job

PS. Hey, I just found out Opel is also a part of GM, since 1929 even. Holy schmoly, I drive a GM

Welcome to the site! And no no word on dates, but it's been implied that it'll be here in Sweden as a domestic release in 2010 at the latest, so don't expect it to be much later then here. And I'd say you'd be able import one or buy one trough an import car firm next spring.

Well I'm suddenly a bit confused since read in another thread that apparantly it's to be brought in by Chevrolet Europe as early as next year...Hopefully all this will be cleared out with the announcment today. I sure wish Chevrolet Sweden would give any kind of indication of this.

Hi Laura, welcome to the site!

It will be out in very early 2009 in the US. That has not changed. But the car will be labeled a 2010 model. So don't worry, they're still coming!!

Hhhmmmnnnnn weeeeeell that's not quite what I meant. Yes it is a 2010 model, and all you said was true for the US, BUUUUT over here we've heard both 2009 and 2010. I'm hoping it's just a slipup and someheard the model year and thought "oh 2010 then!" and that it will in fact go on sale next year.

Like it matter much to me who can't afford it yet...
