mine has a little over 400 miles now and ive been breaking it in hard. hard accelerations then dropping it into nuetral. seems to lag a little still but is getting better the more i do it. gas mileage is also terrible but i blame that on driving it like i stole it. i am probably gonna change the oil in another 100 miles or so.

I broke mine in fairly hard. First day I had it up past 6,000rpms getting on a highway on my trip picking it up in Dallas and heading home near Denver.

yeah ive had it red lined and ran it up to 110 and no problems whatsoever. and ive done it a few times. i dont see a problem with breaking it in how your gonna use it. i think the GM says to break it in lightly more as an insurance thing in case someone is breaking it in hard and kills themselves or others so they cant be held responsible. if they said to break it in hard and someone dies or gets seriously hurt it would be a major lawsuit. read where alot of guys that build motors recomend the hard break in.

For the first 800 mile I dint go over 3K RPM. From 800 to 1500 miles took it seldom up to 4K RPM and all this was done on 95% city driving. Did my first oil change at 1500 and after that I had no mercy. Lol

I’m waiting for 3000 miles to convert to Mobil1 and then soon after I'll dyno the car and see what's up.

Nope. Dino oil in the Camaro v6 from the factory. Same engine in the CTS comes with Mobil 1.

what? i thought the v6s got mobil 1 too? Thats retarded.
Anyways dropping the clutch, well i did that with it off and boy was that fun, seeing pirellis smoke soo much was kinda killing it after my brother did the facepalm and said PIRELLIS! lmao
I did with traction control on and droped the clutch at 2500 and the thing just gripped and went nice. Although im sure my car is going to run very low numbers at the dyno
If my numbers are too low, is there anyway i can bring that up to the dealer or with GM?
Edit, i drove a grand prix rental, and the thing had apperently 240hp or something like that, and i could really feel the power in that car, i just dont understand why i dont feel that power in the Camaro....

Wait, why are most of dyno results so low? I thought it was 304 hp, is the 230-250 the rwhp the people are getting?

304 is at the crank, but there is some loss before it hits the wheels. SO there is a difference between hp and hp at the wheel.
So with 304, the m6 v6 is supposed to dyno 260. 263 i think. But if you dont break it in properly you get low numbers, or you might just get a car that makes less power , i dont know exactly why but most would argue that its beacues of the rings not seating properly with a bad break in process hence the gm way

Of course different dynos are going to read different. On a Mustang with 1200+ miles pretty much by GM guidelines 248 and 253 hp. BUT my tq numbers were lower than others on here, 216 for both pulls.
