Here is the definition of concept incase you didnt know.

con·cept Audio Help /ˈkɒnsɛpt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kon-sept] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. a general notion or idea; conception.
2. an idea of something formed by mentally combining all its characteristics or particulars; a construct.
3. a directly conceived or intuited object of thought.
I am not really worried about what the definition of concept is. I have six cars now I need another car like I need a hole in the head. Bottom line is I fell in love with the concept not some watered down version of it. I hope I see something different tomorrow because I really wanted that car the way it was promissed. That change in the rear is not a small detail like wether or not it has Halos or the position of the back up light and so on. It totally changes the look of the car.

Not true....some companies are given specs before release so they can begin work on components. Suspension for example. Pedders has already done suspension for the new Camaro since its the same as the Pontiac G8 GT chassis. It will only require a few tweaks for the Camaro. I'm sure some companies will have aftermarket parts available at the upcoming SEMA show.

Everything from GM, not the spy shots and speculation that some of us helped create said "Prototype, production may vary". GM never promised an identical car. There are reasons Fbodfather is as vague as he sometimes is that go well beyond trying to keep us hanging.

The regulations on things like side view mirrors and windshield wipers would blow your mind, not to mention bumpers, etc. Many many moons ago I worked in product engineering at a GM component division. I believe it is safe to say that there are not FEWER regulations today than back then, and it was insane in 80s.

If you limit concepts to exact interpretation of the regs then you never push the envelope and come up with cool things that you figure out how to make later in the process. The alternative would be to keep us in the dark the whole time and I applaud GM for showing us as much as they did, and again everything they ever showed (until the embargo was broken on Friday and the pics were credit to GM and they represent production intent), was properly qualified.

Having said THAT, Fbodfather confirmed that there will be such a thing as an RS/SS a couple of hours after you guys logged off in the picture thread. He didn't saying anything other than the badging would be SS and it would be RED if you have an RS/SS.

Couple that with what Edmunds said about the SS they saw (which they IMPLIED had the RS package) that it looked just like the V6 save for the slot in the hood MIGHT imply that you can have it either way. The other SS bumper, or the one that look much more like the concept (don't forget the concept was on a different version of the platform, not the final one and dimensions and proportions had to change to reflect that).

Only a few more hours, but even though we are picking through sometimes contradictory statements from the various mags and sites, there is reason for hope...You may well be able to get the concept bumper with your SS, with the slit (at least that is my interpretation of what I have seen many places)...

I have no problem with what we THINK is the SS bumper, but I can understand the desire to have the concept version, you MIGHT just be able to have your cake and eat it too.....If std SS bumper is the one we saw on the silver SS for the TV show, I actually prefer that one....

I think the most interesting part of this saga is that GM did not let anybody take a picture of the SS, they talk about it, etc, and I think it was the Edmunds article that made fun of them in a nice way about it. They said take the RS and cut out the hood slit and there it is. I think they figured that someone would crash the embargo early and wanted to keep something for today. He did not become the Fbodfather only because he has his own personal fleet of black 'burbans and ready access to a forest to cut his clubs from....

Hey Pink, did you ever consider the possibility that Shunts job is to guard the front license plate bracket in the trunk and make sure it is not installed by mistake by the dealer???????

There is alot that I could think of that I'd like to see, but by far what I'd LOVE to see in the aftermarket is the headlights that look like the Camaro of back in the day. The LED lights, like in my icon picture, I'd LOVE TO SEE THAT!

The Production car looks aggressive as hell to me! The back, the front, the sides! I just can't follow this logic that they 'tamed it down'..........

If anything, and I'll be going out on a limb here, I think the production car looks ever so slightly more aggressive than the concept....but besides that; this car has come amazingly close to the concept. A feat that very few vehicles have ever accomplished, but anyone expecting a carbon-copy of the concept was dreaming, imho.

i wouldn't worry too much i'm certain you can fix the rear quarter panel to make it flare more...i will try when i get mine

i will also get rid of the rear bump

i'm just wondering if its possible to make the rear lights bigger like the concept thats probably the only thing i won't be able to do unless i put in some real money at a real real good customization shop like chip foose or something

but i love this car more than i love cars that cost 2-3 times as much so if it takes that kind of money to make it look like the concept it would be worth it to me

Wow, there's some serious nitpicking going on here. I am not die-hard fan of one brand or company or another (ie, Ford, Chevy, Dodge). I see something I like and that's what I like, no big deal. Some of you guys are being WAAAYYYY to critical on the changes, "if you look super close, or standing on your head you see the difference, or squinting your eyes and you'll see the difference". Damn guys, I think GM hit a home run here and deserve some serious credit for sticking so close to the concept. I'm with Dragoneye here, I think the production car looks bad ass!!!! Well done GM, WELL DONE!!!!

I guess I would have to say then that I was one of the dreamers.

That's the beauty of it, you can do what YOU want with it...

I can see one of those Mastercard commercials coming on....

Black Suburban $50k

Wooden club....go chop down a tree...

Shunt in the trunk guarding the front license plate bracket....No extra charge

Changing the rear bumper for an aftermarket one....A few bucks

Making it look like the concept....Priceless!

Hey Nickdago just go to Barrett Jackson, I'm sure they will sell the concept in a few years.

Actually maybe in a couple of years they will bring out a performance version with a rear end and wheel package that more closely resembles the concept. That would make sense actually, time will tell

key words...

i know what ur saying tho, but what i was meaning was that with 4 hours left in the countdown, just be happy we are getting this damn car. the aftermarket will come...AFTER the market. lol i can guarantee you that everyone of you/us that goes out and test drives or buys a new camaro will be absolutely amazed at its styling, performance, everything. looking at pictures all day long doesnt do squat, its not until you get in the drivers seat and envelop yourself in the car that you can truly appreciate it or make a decision about it.
