High Flow Cat Downpipes

Trying to decide which downpipes to order. Don't want to go catless.

As far as I can tell there are three options:

1. SOLO
2. ARH
3. HOOKER

Would someone please post part numbers? Am I correct that these are the only three options for high flow cat downpipes?

Please advise.

I talked to Magnaflow on here and they said that their cats are OEM and not high-flow.

The third party store I saw them listed on said high flow. Just can't trust people nowadays. Glad I didn't buy them.

I believe the solos have resonators. The ARH do not.

Did a little research for others trying to decide which route to go:

1. SOLO (HFC w/ resonators) $734 + tax, free shipping
2. ARH (HFC w/ out resonators) $499 + tax, plus shipping
3. HOOKER (HFC w/ out resonators) $405 + tax, free shipping

Hooker's are obviously the best value but do not have resonators (same with ARH). Not doubting the fact that I would be happy with SOLO's just wondering if they are worth about $800 once you figure tax. That does seem a hair high in my opinion.

Would appreciate if people who actually own and have installed each of these options could share their opinion and experience for the rest of us. Personally, I'm not looking for extreme loudness just improved exhaust flow and a meaner tone. Also have the magnaflow x pipe sitting in my trunk. Think I'm going to wait and do the entire exhaust at once and hopefully never look back.

All opinions welcome.

Have I missed any options? Has anyone found better deals on these three?

If you're removing your factory resonators and mufflers like you mentioned you were going to (or thought about doing), I'm thinking Solo is the way to go as you'll probably want the resonators; otherwise the exhaust may be pretty loud and/or raspy; I removed my resonators/mufflers and plan to go with Solo, although I'm waiting for the warranty to expire just in case...

sspade,

I started a thread about my installation experience with the ARH HFCs here:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473898

From my experience, I would wait to install the MF resonated X-pipe till you are ready to add the HFCs. The X-pipe really quieted down my MRTv2 exhaust. The HFCs brought it all back and then some! I really love my HFCs. I got the o2 sensor extenders to avoid the CEL (the link is in the above thread), and I have driven about 800 miles since the install with no CEL.

I also have some YouTube videos linked in the thread above.

I bought new Solo HFC's last year for $595 shipped. Black Friday sale 15% off. You should be able to find them for less than $734 if you shop around. They also show up in the members sale forum here fairly often.

Solo HFC are built extremely well and I expect them to hold up and last quite awhile. They do deepen the tone and free up some ponies without any CEL's.

I'm thinking of doing this also.
According to the Hooker websire, they are stainless.
Just wondering if anyoneon the forum has installed them yet

Whatever down pipes you choose, have them coated or wrapped. Exhaust heat will pass through them more rapidly.
