L99 VVT Cam Upgrade

As an aside, I hope in 2017 we can have a useful conversation about VVT cam without all the cloaked specs and secrecy. I mean it's been long enough for the main players to have a good run with their product codes and stages, eh?
Time to lay it on the table about VVT cams and tuning - what works when and why.

Go with The guys at GPI. I began with the VVT SS3 cam, GPI Heads, their intake mod, Bo White ported TB, Rotofab CAI, Kooks LT Headers,Stainless works exhaust and a Circle D 3800 triple disc converter and put down 485 with Ryan's Tune.

Just recently added a D1SC with meth, ZL1 fuel pump, 85lb injectors and put down 704/634. Not only do you get quality work but the customer service is top notch. These guys have gone above and beyond to help me out.

I can say you should be just fine. My 2014 had 30,000 miles when I installed my SS3 came and in a years time I put 30,000 miles on it with no issues at all.

I wonder what it would do with some 3.91's and a 32-3400 stall?! And drag radials like Mickey Thompson

That sounds awesome. I'm seriously considering an SS1 or SS2 for my L99 but I don't want to change the converter. I've got intake, ptb, high flow midpipes, Noweeds (probably doesn't make any serious power difference), 3" cat back and 3.91's so with one of those two cams I'd be pretty happy with mid 12s on street tires lol
