Hiden power port in cab?

Hi I'm installing a camera on my 15' Camaro. I don't want to have the cable hanging in front of me to the cigarette lighter. I was wondering if there is a power hardness some where in the cab.

I ask because on my 02 impala there is on by the passenger foot rest. I looked around on line and can't find nothing. If I find one I'll take pictures of make a video of the install. Thanks for the help.

Check some of the radar detector install threads. You can run wire under your headliner and down the drivers side A-pillar right to the fuse box.

Np.

If you have any questions pm me. This is switched power, it will turn off withing 10mins of you removing the key (same as the cigarette plugs since its the same circuit). Some dash cams require constant power if they have a parked collision detector in them. Check to make sure which you will need. There's lots of other circuits in there for constant power if needed. (V6 is easiest).

I did find check the spare ports on the driver side fuse panel. The only thing is that they seem to stay on even with the ignition turned off. The camera I got has an internal battery so if it detects when the power gets cut ogg and it goes into parking mode. I was going to check power to it with all doors closed and ignition off to see for how long it stays on. I'll be checking f20, f10, and f9.

Only F17/18 are switched.

I installed a power port socket under the console, soldered into the wires to the power port and plugged the camera adapter in there.
Ran the camera wire out the side of the console, behind the dash under the steering wheel, up past the fuse box, behind the door weatherstrip, along the bottom of the A pillar, up the A pillar, across the top of the windshield.

I had installed the smoker's package which came with a different socket for the lighter (and a bezel without a door) so I had the power port socket left over.
