Great! I'm glad others are finally taking these cars to the track. My first track days this year will be on April 10-11.

I bought the car to track... I am already registered for 10 more track days this year and plan a few more when the dates are announced. Looking for ways to increase income to buy more tires and brake pads.

I have both the GT4 and the Z - they are both great cars - the GT4 is a scalpel while the Z is more of a BMF hammer. The GT4, when set up correctly will out handle the Z due to lower weight and CG, but the Z will make it back up on the straights and on corner exits. So overall a very good match up.

GT4 Specs:
ENGINE TYPE:
DOHC 24-valve flat-6, aluminum block and heads, direct fuel injection

Displacement:
232 cu in, 3800 cc
Power: 385 hp @ 7400 rpm
Torque: 309 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm

TRANSMISSION:
6-speed manual

DIMENSIONS:

Wheelbase: 97.8 in
Length: 174.7 in
Width: 71.5 in Height: 49.8 in
Curb weight: 3050 lb

C/D TEST RESULTS:

Zero to 60 mph: 4.1 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 9.0 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 22.9 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.7 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 6.8 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 6.0 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.3 sec @ 117 mph
Top speed (drag limited, mfr's est): 183 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 151 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 1.01 g
Fixed that for you, LOL good video now try try the Z on some purple crack tires.

From my understanding 997 GT3 are being raced in the GT4 class? Not 100% sure but pretty confidant.

Awesome track report! I use Harry's laptimer grand prix. Mount your phone on the window and sync w/ a GoPro 3 or later I believe. Add an external GPS (Garmin Glo is what I use) and you can have full data for a fraction of the cost. Harry's laptimer overlays the data for you and provides you some awesome analysis such as lap over lap speed, lat gs, long. gs etc.

If you want to go mental vbox + solo storm looks incredible but that's 700 for vbox and software plus you need a gopro.

Here's two time attack runs for summit point the other weekend. All vids where in PTM 5.

GT4s are never an issue on track. C7 vettes with R comps are similar capability on track, C7 Z06 can kill me, Audi R8 on R comps are a little faster, C7 Grand Sport are faster than me. See how you fare with the vehicles listed above and report your findings. These are vague generalities and based on driver experience etc. This is in "advanced group" if that makes any difference.

love the snow on the video. This track is a lot of fun and I'm likely going there in May with Track Daze.

I'm going to try the preburnished pads sold by Justice Pete for the CCM rotors that are supposedly a step up from the GM (Pagid) issue pads.

My C7 Z06 destroys my Z/28 on a time attack. I had a C7 Z51 before the Z06 and I think the Z51 would also perform better than the Z/28 if it had the Z/28's brakes. I used to get huge amounts of fade after 20 minutes with Hawk pads.

The C7 Z06 better be a lot faster... I want one buy could not afford one. Best price I found was in the $80,000 range even after rebates. That twice what I paid for a new Z28. Big difference in $80,000 and $40,000. Like a new truck and trailer difference.

Let me know how those work out. Im very scared to try anything other then GM ones. I don't have the money to replace those rotors.

You can buy slightly used Z06's now between 60k to 70k without Z07 option.

agreed...I don't want to replace rotors either. Justice Pete is a reputable source and swears by his pads. Read about them: http://www.jpssonline.com/#/jpss-brake-pads/
