I can't wait to get mine on track, I'm coming from a C6 GS and E46 M3 (which I loved on track) but I'm going this will be even better.

My Z28 wasn't used. I wanted brand new with the full warranty and great interest rate, but yes you can get them for that.

Get to the track... this car is so much better. I was very un impressed with the car until I got on a track.

I assume your car is bone stock? I will suggest one item that has made me turn much faster lap times than my buddy I do HPDEs with. He has the same car and we have basicly the same skill level. Auto Blip is the must have accessory for this car unless your very proficient at heel toe. I couldn't master it and finally "sold out" lol. I justified it by to myself by realizing that most of the other cars at the track days I was doing had it as factory equipment so I pulled the trigger and got it. Works perfect and I can say that my corner exit speeds are much faster and no more flat spotted tires that I used to get with my C5Z.

See how you fare with the vehicles listed above and report your findings. These are vague generalities and based on driver experience etc. This is in "advanced group" if that makes any difference.
I have not had my Z on the track yet so interested to compare times on same tracks. Typically out west I run Cal Speed, Willow Springs, Laguna Seca, Infineon, Thunderhill and now Thermal Club.

Randy Pobst posted a 1:37.82 on Z in 2014 for Motor Trend at Laguna Seca and it won best drivers car - in 2015 he posted a 1:37.43 in the GT4, which he felt was poorly set up. Not same day or conditions, but same track and driver, so a comparison showing they should be pretty close - on tight circuits nod to GT4 and on HP tracks nod to Z28.

My experience is the GT4 versus other well driven cars is the GT3, GTR and the C7 Z06 are faster. The C7 Z06 is wicked fast down the straights - ran with one last event and he lost ground on the infield but on the straight and roval (at Cal Speedway) he simply killed me - 2nd lap he went by on straight and put 20 + car lengths by braking point in turn 3 - by time we got back around to the front straight I had reeled back in about half of that. But no way I was keeping up with him. He was on R compound tires as well. Those things make stupid power!

I am looking forward to getting the Z broken in and set up for this year. Just smile ear to ear every time I drive it.

Just curious as I have done mostly autocross. You say you were sliding around in the seat. I'm 5'8" and 170 and dont have that issue. Have you tried putting your seat belt on then pulling it all the way out. When you do this you'll actually hear the seat belt ratcheting back in it will fit you as tight as you want it to go. you may already know this but just wanted to ask.

No, I was going to read the owners manual to find out if there was a trick like that to lock it. My Corvette as a lock button. I will try that. Thanks.

No problem, It works like the lap bar on a roller coaster the more you tuck yourself in the seat the tighter it gets.

definitely do the "pull seat belt all the way out" trick and let it ratchet back and tighten. I just purchased a "cg lock" to make the lap belt tighter. I will let you guys know how this works.

In a C5 corvette you move the seat back, pull the seat belt all the way out, set the belt, then move the seat forward and it will cut you in to and stay there. Will try that in the Camaro.
