You have 3.23 gears. Depending on how high HP you are going to be at. If you are doing drag racing or roll racing. If you can't do procharger soon then get the 3.45 gear it won't be as dramatic as 3.91's but you won't have to swap back when you procharger it. Or just buy a 1le diff, install it and swap back later and sell the diff

ZL1 oem wheels with Goodyear eagle f1s staggered. Have not tried to find top speed in second since I road course and usually in 3rd and 4th gear. If you go FI, 3.45 are a good choice. Upgrade from current auto gearing (3.23 I believe) is not big enough for the cost if you stay na. The SS2 is about as big as you can go and keep stock converter, but it will push more @ idle. I honestly think you should make sure where you want to end up so you don't spend twice... ask me how I know ;o) I love the SS1 and it has worked well in my FI setup. For a streetable NA setup, it's a great cam. Keep in mind, your valve springs will likely need changing in about 20k miles. Nature of the beast... You may want to consider an FI cam if you go that route. GPI can help you decide... -Don

Great point John!
Like I said earlier, cheap and power don't really mix ;o). So many things to consider before going for power -- like things that will break ;o) -Don

I mostly autocross and my diff just took a crap. As you know, these cars are a joke manual shifting, i.e.: the shift delay. My actual shifts are pretty darn fast (0.1xx), but the shift delay is typically ~1 second. Autocross courses are difficult enough, let alone trying to figure out where you're going to be in 88 feet, and when it's safe to shift (the time for the shift to execute after tapping the paddle at 60 MPH). My car shifts hard, and the last thing I want is an unexpected, full-throttle shift when the car's not straight... LOL! I've found myself sitting at reduced throttle waiting for the shift... Not good when tenths are HUGE... I'm thinking of going to 3.45, and it looks like I'd lose 3 MPH in 2nd. I'd go with the 3.45 for a better launch (and corner exit), as not having a clutch, and starting in 2nd, doesn't make for the best getaways, but I don't want to be in a position where I'd have to shift to 3rd more often... UGHHH. Last edited by Fondue Wormhole; 02-21-2017 at 12:51 PM. |

Yes read those articles that PSJ mentioned. Very well written and mod for mod results are there. IMO the stock cam needs a stall so......

Only other thing I'd say is, if you have a long term plan for the combo, pick parts for that.
