I run the L99 SS3 VVT and we did not have to fly cut pistons.

Local friend made 44x rwhp on load dyno with the SS1. I made 463rwhp on the same kind of dyno, and I have more stuff done (ported heads, intake, tb and underdrive).

SS4 VVT cam is the only one that GPI claims to require flycutting.

I just finished flycutting mine today, going to place the order for my push rods and then P2V clearance checks to see if I need to skim some more off.

Ryan instructed me to cut .035 on intake on unmilled heads, maybe a tad less on the TSP 13* head. None needed on exhaust.
