Performance mods will not commenced until all warranties have expired. By then, I'll probably have changed my mind and continue to leave stock.
I went through the noisy lifter thing with my 2010. The AFM lifters were replaced under warranty with an upgraded design. I'm not sure when the better lifters came into production. Maybe other 2013 owners can chime in.

This was the AFM lifter bleed down problem that caused a rattle for a second after startup. That's gone now, but still the L99 is generally noisy compared to earlier GM small blocks.

My 2010 is absolutely stock. I have to think it's a rare one for that reason but also because of the combination of options that I ordered. It's 2SS but non-RS. So it has a leather interior and gage cluster, but standard headlights and white SS badges. I ordered it that way primarily because in 2010, only non-RS cars had real fog lights. In RS cars, the "fog lights" were the DRLs and could not be turned on once the headlights went on. Later, GM came to their senses on that particular issue and moved the DRL function to the headlamps on RS cars.

The OP's car is a 2013 so it should have the updated lifter design I thought GM changed them in the 2011 models but I'm not sure on that one.

Hopefully he gets it sorted but with no mods to the car it shouldn't be much of a fight. Mine is unmolested except for the tune so it appears stock in every way including the air box but of course it really isn't stock anymore....

The AFM lifter problem was definitely still around in 2011, but not sure about 2012 and 2013. I think GM kept using the bad lifters until they were all used up.

Not nice!

BTW, my car is white also!

Thx yeah I knew they changed them but wasn't sure on the year. I'm pretty sure 2013's have the new ones if I recall reading that correctly but it was quite a while ago....

Nice on the white too!

So what's your Camaro doing up there in the Great White North?

Mine is hiding in the garage, shivering and waiting for salt season to be over. I lived through one Wisconsin winter, and it's been like that here in Massachusetts for the last few days. Winter sucks.

Urs looks nice! Tbh, yellow wasn't my 1st Choice, but the car had everything I was looking for as far as options and the right price. Yellow would have been about my 5th choice, but it has grown on me. I had a 73 nova that I painted Omaha Orange (Dukes of Hazzard orange) so a bright car and the attention they command is not new to me. I want to put flat black rally stripes. But I already hear enough ppl saying : look..."bumble bee". I could do without the comparison as I'm not a transformers fan, but as in anything in life, I just let it roll off. It's a fun car tho. The best way I can describe it is : a cast iron tub on skates. Sit real low in the cabin and the interior surrounds the driver like a old deep tub, and when tc is off....look out. It drifts fairly well for such a heavy car.

One thing I'd LOVE to do is tune the slush box. God those 6L80s are awful. I'll deal with it for now tho.

Forgot to mention, def not an exhaust leak. I really think lifter from what I've investigated. Could be noisy injector as stated before. I'm not certain if the AFM even works. One time on the freeway, the mpg jumped up to 28.4, but it has not done it again since. At this point I say forget the AFM. I didn't buy the car to get 30mpg. Wonder if the dealer would turn off the AFM without voiding warrany...

Another thing I want to ask to those who give a darn...has anyone seen this interior option on other 5th gens? I have the build sheet and the window sticker. It was ordered with some extra interior goodies but I haven't dug deep enough to see if these seats are factory or if the original owner had them installed after. He owned it for about 2 years and kept it immaculate (and low miles, just as I am trying to do myself). The front and rear seats are the same color, the pics are deceiving.

Well it's been parked pretty much since December 1 and I just had it out during the last week or so for a couple of romps.

It's in my garage again as it turned really cold this week but hopefully in the next couple of weeks it will take a turn for the better.

Tuning the L99 especially the Trans really wakes it up and changes the car so much for the better. No regrets on that one....
