A little too defensive?

i would take a v6 over the v8 any day i plan to build a car that can drive on a track not just go in a straight line when you learn how to drive you will appreciate having a lighter motor making more power. i plan on a tt . and i payed more for my lt1rs than it world have to get a base 1ss. so dont come in a v6 form and talk shit on the car. there is a reason that they are using the v6 to beat the gtr!!!!!!!!

I understand how you feel. I used to have 94 n/a supra and i loved it but it just couldnt compete with the TT's even with a 75shot of nitrous. However the daily driving and economy was great. But ultimately I hunkered down and bought a TT supra and never looked back at my N/A. I agree that putting a performance package for a v-6 model is not a wise marketing move for GM. I know that v-6 owners want more out of their cars but I think that its not what the v-6 was intended for. The v-6 models have the look but not the go of the SS. And I know some v-6 owners hate when we say "buy the SS" but in reality thats what the SS was made for. There are some upgrades for the v-6, I know hennessey has an intake and exhaust. but boosting a v-6 and then saying "well i bought it for economy, price, less insurance...ect ect" is nonsense. Everything you do performance wise IMO will negate all the reasons why you bought it instead of the SS and the money you spent on all that you could have gotten a 1SS at least. I say be happy with your 5th gen and enjoy its style.

Insurance doesn't care about your supercharger.... I had one, I know... just keep your receipts... Heck, in fact most insurance companies don't even car about a V6 to V8 swap... they go by the VIN #....

Nothing VOIDS your ENTIRE warranty... they could deny your claim on the blown motor but they still need to honor your warranty for other things that are not caused by your aftermarket parts... like your power windows, etc.

More than likely GM will just up the HP on future cars rather then come out with any kind of power adder... Auto companies tend to leave power adders to the after market...

GM, like Ford views the V6 base model as the model for the masses... people that want a nice looking car but also want a nice comfy, QUIET ride... That doesn't mean the V6 models aren't performance cars, just means that's not their target market...

oh... and to the OP... don't look at GM for aftermarket parts... there are a number of awesome aftermarket companies that specialize in the stuff you are looking for... it just takes time! Same thing when Ford redid the Mustang in 2005... took a while but eventually there were all kinds of great upgrades! Same thing will happen with the V6 Camaro... I'm sure we'll see some things at SEMA... Stuff will come... just need to be a patient...
