Oh, I don't think they will detune this thing at all...Earlier in the process, Ed Peper (big boss for Chevy) was asked what the company thought about "stepping on the Corvette" in terms of power/performance....He said pretty much what 1320Junkie alluded to above; the Vette is just a different vehicle. I don't think it's a concern.

The vette sales have took a beating lately...

BUT.......I have been giving this all some serious thought. Here is my conclusion and or prediction (now remember, I have a fairly good track record in this regard....)

The Z28 will come out as a 2012.

But here's MY TWIST. You read my previous post... both can't be done in the same year.....SO:

2011 = CONVERTIBLE - yes, roll the dice with me baby! This is going to come out a year early! I FEEL it in my CAMARO BLOOD.

2012 = Z28 - still feeling limited production here.....but not at the small numbers of ZR1 levels.

There you have it.

True, true, I hope they don't but we talking about GM here. Remember the F-body came with the same exact motor as the C5 Corvette rated at 305

it was putting almost as much to the ground as a C5 rated at 350hp. Then to go further back with the GN/GNX a car that was rated at 260hp

people said that thing was more like 300+ that was more than what a C4 was putting out. Even though none of the cars above would outperform the Corvette people would only see the price per HP.

True that, I was thinking that myself. IF the Z/28 was slated to come out GM would launch the C7 first. Thats my speculation or 2 cents.

The LS3 is unchanged from the GXP/C6/Camaro but all have different SAE ratings because of intake and exhaust differances.

Yep...BUT....there's no fudging hp numbers anymore...:( (or

, depends how you look at it). These engines are all SAE certified...given that, they'd have to actually reduce performance...which simply isn't an option for these people. Especially given the competition, and customer demands.
