Update: took the ride in for full service. Mentioned the tick. They didn't deny there was a tick, but wouldn't commit to identifying it's exact cause. I let them do their thing, was treated very well by the entire service staff. Lots of folks were fawning over the car, including the techs (excluding vettes owners of course). Got the car back and all seems well after the service. Wasn't low on oil so I don't think I need a catch can. Gonna keep putting miles on it as weather and time permits. Still plenty of warranty left, so if the noise comes back, I'm not worried. I drive my truck more often than not to keep low miles on the gen5, so if it has to go to the dealer for warranty in the future, I am not stranded or forced to rent a car.
