Has anyone had drone in the 1,200-1,500 range? I've got a magnaflow resonated x pipe that I'm tempted to have installed, but curious how long J-Pipes would need to be to kill drone in that RPM range. I've seen the picture that suggested 30-33" would work but that seems like packaging would be difficult.

Should I go with the resonated x pipe or see about having J-Pipes installed?

I have a tru X-pipe installed and had drone at about 1.4K - 1.5K. I had custom J-Pipes installed with a pipe length of 36". Haven't been bothered by drone since then.

Since adding my Doug Thorley axle back...drone at 2k....have been researching this issue going thru threads and am about to add j-pipes...prior to this I added a basic sound proofing kit in the trunk from ebay for $25 http://www.ebay.com/itm/10sqft-GTMat...1XrOx7&vxp=mtr..did the wheel well sides(pound with your fist-sound like a drum...echos the drone...and the wide flat spots that also had the hollow sound when hit...best $25 bucks spent...made such a diff even the wife(who said I RUINED the car with the axle backs ROFL-IMHO sounds like it should have from the factory LOL) said it was a lot better..that said there is still the drone...too bad Hooker does not make this for us https://www.holley.com/products/exha.../70401312-RHKR...I wonder if the j-pipe ends in a container of a specific volume instead of length?? Please help me here, not a rocket scientist but I think this is the principle...thoughts!

BTW - would this allow it to modulate drone across a wider band vs the j-pipe that adjusts to a specific freq?

That's a lot of extra pipe at the rear of the car. I'm going to try and live with it for now, if it gets worse I'll get the resonated X-Pipe installed and hope that cures things. The guy at the shop I'll have do the work seemed to think it would help, but without hooking it on there he has no idea. J pipes would work but packaging would be difficult.

Maybe I'll do some smaller resonators...

I had the outlaw with tons of drone. It literally gave me a headache in 20 minutes of driving. I solved the problem by just installing the SW retro chambered instead. No drone at all. I also thought about getting J-pipes, but after the cost of buying them and paying someone to install them, it was just as cheap to get another catback and not have to have the j-pipes at all.

Are those hanging down lower than the diffuser? Sloppy work. Mine run alongside the muffler and are tucked up inside of the diffuser.

Did that, he said J-Pipes would work better than the resonated x pipe... Gotta find a shop around here that could do this. Not sure how the packaging will work with 30-33" pipes lol

Bro, where ya at in MD? Looks like we are in a similar situation...I have an idea for an adjust j-pipe similar to what another C-5'r did..need to locate a shop that can do radius bends and/or install for reasonable $$$...if they do more than 1 could bring cost down? Worth a shot...I'm near Hagerstown...
