The difference is pretty obvious from v6 to v8.
- Larger lower air dam, - Non-functional slit above grill - SS badging (either silver or red depending on package) - 20 inch wheels (as opposed to 18's) Here's a few things that either weren't talked about in the first IDL or weren't written down by Scotty. update if you feel the need. Rear Latch - Sorry guys, no Shunt ropes... Manual is standard while automatic is an option LSD on all models except v6 auto Steel wheels does not mean hubcaps on black steelies The car is not considered an F-body but the fourth digit in the VIN will be an F (they're 90%+ sure) Dual Stripe will be the factory option, but GM accessories might/will have different design(s) BTW, the exhaust note is simply beautiful. It's deeper than the corvettes, and a lower tone as well. |

I totally agree, a bigger engine should not automatically mean you automatically get a car that stands out from the rest just because of the performance. Its one of the things that annoy me so much about the dodge chargers, the V8 upper end models got better seats, chin spoilers, rear spoilers, fascia, exhaust. You look at the even well apointed V6 it still looks like a different car compared the high end RT, or srt8. At least the challenger now seems to have improved on that. But of course you look on the charger forum. You see the ego maniacs complaining about that one fact that there V8 will not stand out. IMO thats what mods are for, thats how I made my V6 charger stand out. But in todays economy the V6 model should have access to the seats and other cosmetic options as the V8. I am getting the V8 for the performance, good seats a must also. But the DI V6 is nothing to laugh about. And for those who dont like it tough luck that kind of thinking is out of date. Oh yeah its a good thing that the V6 has a dual exhaust. Much better for performance, after all look at the nissans and honda V6 they have duals. My V6 dynoed way higher with an X pipe true dual, than with a single. Track times were better too.

My supercharged 3.4L 4Runner is single exit exhaust with 2.25" pipe. This vehicle dyno'd at 240RWHP (300+ crank HP) with more left in it if I wanna get silly with the pulley. Others have added larger exhausts to their supercharged 4Runners and HP was not increased. Based on the above, I doubt the V6 Camaro actually benefits from a dual exhaust and I'd be surprised if it's actually dual exhaust and not just two mufflers like my Accord. If it is true dual exhaust and sounds good, COOL. I'd have loved something like that as a teenager. |

Seeing some of the quarter mile times and 0-60 times, I hope one of two things happened; They are conservative, or They tested in 100 degree weather in Denver with a test monkey. I am betting they are just conservative. Oh yeah I didn't read all of the thread, but it will be governed at 155, boo.

When I went shopping for my current LS1, I was intent on going auto. Reasoning that I am getting old (45), it's easier on my knees (have to get both replaced), and I could get better gas mileage and less tickets. I owned my WS6 for about 2 weeks and started kicking my own ass for not getting another 6 speed!! Ha Ha My 5th Gen will be a 6 speed. I will never sell my WS6 so will always have an auto

One thing's for sure, these won't be cheap. And just imagine how much OVER sticker price the dealers will be asking for them when they come out.
I'm just not as geeked up about this car as I thought I'd be... |

So true and I find that often even with new models that dealers have had on their lots for 6 months. That is your life, make it your passion, know the product and impress the customer. Get engrossed into this new car that may help to increase your income. Take two camaros and call me in the morning.

My 2 cents for what it's worth. Sent an email and made a phone call to Chevrolet customer service. Probably a waste of time.
My question was, Who was the stupid SOB that made the decision no white Camaro's till after the Indy 500 next year??? No wonder GM is loosing out to Toyota and others. Closing factories and laying off workers. They just don't get it. All they have to sell anymore is service and pleasing the customer. I have bought 24 new GM cars but now when they tell me, "You will have to wait till July next year for a white Camaro." Guess what, this retired man dosen't have to wait for a white car from Chevrolet. I will be driving a new BMW or Infiniti G37. Their decision to not make me what I want. |
