That's exactly how the 2ndgen CTS sounds if you've ever stood right behind one with the motor running.

Obviously, the v8 sounds better, but the V6 doesn't sound like a ricer either.

V6, no doubt, with that whimpy exhaust note and small tailpipes. The wheels looked 18 or 19 inch too, not 20, plus the RS badging.

I say V6, based on size of Brakes. The sound to me doesn't stand out and say V8. My G35 coupe sounded similar.

We've already confirmed with 100% certainty that this is the V6 - no point discussing (that aspect) of it anymore. However, for a V6 I think it sounds awesome, if a bit over resonated (too quiet at idle).

See this thread. Its basically still pictures of the same event. Good close up of brakes. Im pretty sure this is a V6 car. Having said that, look at the threadwork on the leather seats....Nice!!!!!

v-8 engine sound

Hey folks new member here, just thought you'd like to hear what at least the pre-pro V8 sounded like and draw your own conclusions. Go to left lane news, look up the camaro , scroll down past all the beautiful pictures and click on the you tube video. I'd do a link but not sure how, sorry. New one on me, actual engineer giving short interview on pre-pro, then about 50 seconds in the driver revs that sweet engine, what a beautiful sound. There is more , a nice screech as driver tries to lose the chaser car and another short blast or two of the engine before it is over. Engineer states it is indeed the V8 and from what we learned yesterday the slit in the hood confirms it... ENJOY, I did for sure, man I love this car.

Unfortunately your theories are wrong. Notice the Revving is very clear, yet the rest of the video, is garbled. Sounds very manipulated. Plus after hearing the REAL exhaust note today, it's different than the one in the video when the car "starts up". Might be a v8, but it's not the final exhaust note of the Camaro v8.

I'm still thinking its the V6 - the revving is clear because its clean footage. The idle is garbled because they had to make it louder to counter the resonators in the v6 - that way they could say its the v8. Better press that way. Although, the only way to know for sure would be to get official word

Whoa. Let the elitist mentality arise.

So Mindz, when are we going to hear the final V8 sound? Or have I missed that thread?
