What a coincidence. I'm new to the sound system scene and I'm installing a powered subwoofer. I did extensive research and found that grounding to the battery is good.

Unfortunately, I'm waiting on a part that won't be here until Thursday to complete my installation.

I'm still interested to see where this goes.

See i have tried that. and i still get noise. Ive got all items grounded to the one point as people say i should.

I have al wires OFC same brand. all grounded where they should be ( distro block to one ground ) and no idea whats wrong. i have tried a few spots.

That sounds above my pay grade. I'm doing a simple subwoofer and from everything I've read I shouldn't get this problem.

Is your ground super short? I've read that your ground must be as short as possible. Like ridiculously short, less than 2-3 feet!

Have you cleared the ground area of ALL paint? This usually seems to be the first troubleshooting problem with ground issues. Next, are you running the speaker wires and RCA's on the other side of the car from the power wires. If they do cross each other, it should be at a right angle, if possible. Also, check to make sure all the RCA's are tight into the HU and amps.

I'm now on my 3rd try for my front stage amp, bcuz of the same issue. My installer told me the 2 Mmats amps I gave him did not like to live directly over my battery, even though the air compressor cover has been reinforced with 3/4 MDF. He tried 4 amps he had around the shop, and the Arc XDi1200.6 is the only one that has a quiet noise floor in that position. I am now trying to work a deal for an Arc, which I sold to buy the Mmats! Oh, the irony of it all!

Do you have any loops of cable anywhere? They'll act as antennas.
