camaro or corvette?

This is a very difficult question for me to answer. Out of the whole list of cars that I had from the gto, g8, cts, gtr, mazdaspeed 3 and others, I also come back to the same two, the camaro and corvette. If you had a choice of any model from these two cars, which would it be?? I figured I'll just buy a 5th gen camaro soon, like in a year, after i graduate college, and get a corvette when I'm older or something. What do you think?

You may want to clarify that statement...because that means we get to pick from:

LS Camaro
LT Camaro
SS Camaro

LT Corvette
Z06 Corvette
ZR1 Corvette

Not exactly fair, you see...

I can tell you I wrestled with this issue myself for a few months...I have a max limit of $50,000 if I can put 50% down in a few years. And with that limit, I'm going to be getting a Z28. I'm not sure how much $$ you want to spend, though.

There are a number of key differences between the two cars. The main being the size and seating capacity of both. The Camaro can seat 4 average-sized people comfortably. The Corvette can seat 2. You're going to be enticed by the "status" of owning a Corvette...but I want to stress that you should ignore any outside input of that respect, and just figure out which car YOU want to be in every day (or weekend)

Reading opinions, and researching numbers and reviews will drive you absolutely insane. I encourage you to test drive both, and figure this out for yourself. That's what it took for me.

If you can't get your hands on a Camaro...check around here, you'll find a number of reviews and opinions...Here's one to start with, I put it up a couple of weeks ago after test-driving the Camaro SS for the first time.

ofcourse the corvette is my all time fave. but the extra backseat in the camaro is always nice. lol and the zr1 is an obvious choice, but it may be a bit of an intimidating car to me haha like driving a viper or something. but you dont get a camaro for its back seat :-P and also i mean any gen. theres a 68 camaro around my job and its a bit rusty but i love it

I wrestled with the same question. I drove the vette and went home to think about it. After doing that for almost a year I realized that they are kind of a pain to get in and out of after a while. They (in my experiance) also have more rattles and little cosmetic problems then I like in a car that Retails for nearly $55,000.

I am eligible to purchase a Corvette with either the Family or Supplier discounts and chose to get the Camaro (with out being able to use the discounts) for roughly the same price. I was looking at a 4LT for $48k or my Camaro for $43k.

I went with the Camaro. Granted, I had an older (04) Vette a few years ago and I would gladly give that up for my Camaro. Best sports car I have ever owned/driven.

Good luck with you decision. It's not an easy one to make. But you can't go wrong with either car.

They are both dramatically different to my eyes..and in feel to me...just two totally different rides and drives. The Camaro would never replace my Vette and the Vette would never replace my Camaro. Close is not the real thing..go drive them both and make your choice

i wont mind the getting in and out of the corvette since im only 5'3. i guess it depends on if u want a sporty car or a sportier car. ultimately i want a sports car for me and a big car for the fam. maybe like a tahoe. its always nice to have the backseat in the camaro just in case u need to take some kids or ppl around. base models for each cars are also really good choices.

My 4 year old decided this for me. I was deciding b/t a base vette or decked out Camaro. My daughter can't ride in the vette with me and my wife so I ended up with the 'maro. So my advice is look ahead a little bit to see where you will be in 2-3 years from now to decide.
