They just made a pull with the 3" restrictive plate. It made only 786 rwhp and 678 RWTQ at 13 psi.
Still fine tuning.

Next pull at 3.25" it picked up 1.5 psi., made 855 rwhp / 700 RWTQ at 14.5 psi

Here is where we landed for now but these will not be the final numbers because he still has the timing turned down a bit. Today was basically a boost test and fuel assessment.
The ID 1700X's will arrive in a couple of days and so will the Super Pulley/Sprag (which is a little smaller so it will increase the boost just a tad) Restrictor plate at 3.35" between 2 pulls (008 & 009) calling it: 890 HP 720 TQ 16 psi boost

Hey I was at 795 hp before and now at 890 ish so it will make a difference at the at the track, especially with the anticipated higher trap speed.

For the guys here that like to study the Dyno, here are some comparison pulls from today. Just so you know, for the higher boost/HP runs he had the timing pulled way back, but once we got the psi under control with the restrictor plate, he brought most of the timing back. When the injectors come in he will refine the tune.
Here is the Maggie Dyno from last December:

Hard to imagine what this F-1X would make on a built engine where we weren't trying to limit the boost, especially when it makes 1000 hp on the smallest pulley? LOL.

Comparison
Great results by the way.
I'm curious about a few points you can hopefully compare. You just made the swap and most things about the car will be fresh on your mind. What was the boost and power level on the TVS2300? Once you get to the track I'm curious what the real world differences are on the track in terms of when and how the power comes in. Example 60 ft 330ft and so on. Now compared to before. I would say this answers some of the questions about what these stock bottom ends will take. Nicely done Sir !! |

I will edit my earlier post and put the Maggie Dyno in there with the other 4 pulls shown in the graph above.

I have now added the Maggie Dyno just under the comparison Dyno's from today. It is obvious that the Maggie makes more torque.
Today the tuner was looking at the torque difference down low when we added the restrictor plate. He said that pretty much all of the runs look the same to about 4500 rpm so limiting the blower did not affect the down low torque. We were also about 11 psi at 4500 rpm on all of the pulls, but where the HP takes off is at the top of the rpm band. During some of our discussions he told me that inevitably the ProCharger will be easier on the engine because it spools up slowly whereas the Maggie is making full psi at 2500-3000 rpm. Guess time will tell, and like we have discussed earlier in this thread, a Dyno number is not everything, only a guide, but I like what I am seeing so far

Great comparison
You really have have shown a great side by side comparison of two awesome combinations making big power on the same long block. We don't get a chance to see this kind of feedback very often it seems.
What you had was a powerful combo but you've added some substantial power here. I think what you will find is that the car still has ample usable torque but where you will really gain is not fighting to keep the intake temps down. Especially with the gear you're running. That is really why I'm a bit curious to see how it responds differently than before. For me the solution has been to get the thing hot and leave it hot and it stays consistent. I think what you have now with the F1 is superior to that. It definitely makes boost easier and the power comes in smooth. All very good traits. You guys in Houston have some of the fastest real street cars found anywhere. They know how to do it right out there. This is exciting stuff. Thanks for all the info ! |

No sir I am staying with the stick!! I am currently #5 on the M6 "Anything Goes - Street Registered" list and after this build I can see myself moving up the list a bit
