I'm relatively new to the forum and just got my '11 SS about a month ago but I'm seeing a lot of guys running Rotofab and Cold Air Inductions CAIs with a ton of positive feedback. Personally i will be going with a CAI soon. There are plenty of options to chose from as far as styling goes but won't be that close to stock. Both are great and I'm sure someone can link the tests and results that Jannetty Racing has done on a bunch of CAIs. Best bet would be to check out the Sponsors Marketplace for shops that sell them or try and find a used one that a member is selling.

Personally I run a Roto-fab intake, but there are MANY people who also like CAI (Cold Air Inductions). Either of these are incredible intakes. Of course if you do want a factory look then go with a factory intake and get the Z/28 intake. It is a very good flowing intake especially for a factory intake.

I've got Roto_Fab on both my cars and have zero issues with either.

Second thoughts on getting that tune. Has anyone had any drive train issues after getting a tune? I dont want it to come back and bite me in the ass if i have a drivetrain failure and GM denies me there 6 year 100k warrenty. I want it just dont know if its worth the gamble. Im sure the decision is up to me just want some feedback.

Unless I am given reason to suspect the failure is related to the tune I never check for a tune. If something crazy happens beyond what I normally see on LS engine then I would check for a tune because GM will be asking me for the program history. GM will deny any claim that doesn't get a program history when it was requested which means you will be responsible for the bill. Btw, powertrain is 5 year 100k. Having said that, I personally wouldn't gamble for a marginal increase in power. Bide your time, collect all the parts and do one swift kick in the pants power increase.

If I wasn't already running with a Vararam, I would almost certainly be using either a CAI or RotoFab intake, with the scoop and washer relocation kit.
3rd choice would be a tie between be the Z28 intake and the new Vararam DRX that has the integrated washer bottle/air foil. You really can't go wrong with any of these choices. Just depends how 'stock' you want things to look. If going for a stock look, go with the Z28 or Vararam DRX.

Either rotofab or z28 if you want good performance combined with a factory look!

Is the scoop for racing only? I have looked at them, but worry that it would scoop up rain water too on a daily driver.
