Hopefully this will get media coverage it deserves...3.8 MILLION?!?!? And they're all new cars!

And it's spread across a variety of cars...so it couldn't have been just one person...what a team of winners they've got at headquarters.

GM cars have had those metal eyelets and hooks in the floor to hold the mats in place for a loooong time. Did Toyotie save $0.05 per car to leave that off?

Who knows. They could have either done that...(proving themselves the ultimate in world-cheapskates), not thought about it (proving themselves truly inept), or decided they'd take their chances due to late recognition (proving they don't care about their customers as much as some people foolishly believe they do).

Either way, they've proven themselves some flavor of stupid. (And I personally believe it's a combination of all three). 3.8 MILLION...Holy Hell...

"Toyota: moving you forward.....whether you want to or not." *ding*

Oughhhh...This company pisses me off so much I want to scream...how do they pull things like this and still have people buy their crap?!?! Are people that blind?

Maybe they couldn't mount a floor-mat hook to the frame, because it would rot through.

In September 2007, Toyota recalled an accessory all-weather floor mat sold for use in some 2007 and 2008 model year Lexus ES 350 and Toyota Camry vehicles because of similar problems.
This is the part that kills me. How could they not have learned their lesson? Its a God$#%^ floormat for pete's sake.

It's the same argument as the 4 for 12 bucks (was 3 bucks) Coke sale at Walmart.. and Walmart in general.

The human race is inherently stupid. Toyota and Walmart should just merge.. maybe then they can have a sum total of maybe.. oh.. one brain cell in the whole conglomeration?

Toyota FTL!
if my car was accelerating wildly out of control, my first thought would not be "quick! check the floormat!"

i hope this gets the publicity and coverage it deserves. this is a HUGE recall!

Sold 2.26 mil

LOL, it's just floormats. There may be a trace of blood in the water- but there is no chum here. And what does Walmart have to do with it?

This is not the recall you are looking for. You can go about your business, move along.

Floormats that hold your accelerator down when you likely want to stop...that ought to be an interesting commute.

And Walmart's another dirty company that everyone praises without paying attention....Toyota and Walmart are similar in that respect.
