Reviewing the thread a bit....as one poster said. Todays car owners are competely spoiled by todays performance. Just like when I read how a street car in the mid to low 12s was slow. And fast also has a different meaning to each of us. I just took my buddy out for a run in my Camaro after he just bougt a 2014 Mustang 5.0. Holly shit he said...this thing hauls. To me....it runs pretty. But you get used to different power levels.

Been working in the auto service industry for 35+ yrs now. One thing I learned early on. Quality has very little to do with sales.
It's the price that sells cars. The cheapest cars are always the ones that manufacturers sell the most of.
Yes there are some people who choose wisely, but when push comes to shove the price is ultimately the main concern for the majority of buyers.
They buy the cheapest and then complain about the quality.
It's the American way

I wonder if the OP is just a troll. Camaro 5 is generally visited by people who like, or even love their cars. Our cars are getting older now so yes we discuss problems, but there are 10 times as many threads about what we can do to customize or make them even better.

And I should remind the OP that the 5th gen was generally regarded as reliable and got a check rating from Consumer Reports, even though they hated the visibility.

Yeah, it's interesting to read road test reviews from 2009 to see what people didn't like about the new Camaro. I think it's got a very usable trunk, and the visibility complaints seem a bit over-stated to me. To me, the Camaro would have missed the mark if it had the interior refinements of a Mercedes and the effortless clutching and shift feel of a Honda. One of my favorite things about my car is that it manages to feel like a muscle car from back in the day, but is as safe as any other newer car on the road. The younger people complaining that it's not as smooth at idle, or about this or that can't possibly be expected to understand the Camaro. And I like that it's wide and heavy and impractical and unrefined in some areas. Chevy connected pretty well with it's target market. It's definitely not a rattletrap, thrown-together vehicle. It is possible that the OP got a "bad one"- some cars just don't seem to come out right from the factory. And maybe I just got lucky and got a great one. But from what I have observed, the vast majority of owners are thrilled with their Camaros. Also, some people approach things from a negative perspective, dwelling on the negatives instead of celebrating the positives.

I'm in a 2012 so I cant really compare much. But yeah the manual in mine is like diving a truck. cheap plastic everywhere. Still better then 100% of the cars I've owned. It is what it is. the longer I drive the v6 the more of a point A to B car vibe I get. Or a nice weekend cruiser. Its cheap no argument there.

Maybe you should change the trans fluid. The manual in mine is very smooth especially after I changed the transmission oil and went to a separate clutch reservoir.

The interior plastics seem to be good for me. However, I come from 3rd gen F-body's and C4 Corvettes so my standards may not be that high. lol!

However, the dash and console seem to be pretty well made and there are no squeaks and rattles like those other cars. Overall, the quality of the interior plastic is really no different than any other vehicle in the same price class.

I have a 2010 with 23,000 I bought 2 months ago. I think its fine quality. The LS3 pulls hard and the 6 speed manual works well but it is definitely not smooth but as some alluded to its a muscle car... I like it just the way it is.. It doesn't rattle and is a great ride. I think some of you guys complaining just like to be negative. My car is a dream come true. I've wanted a camaro my whole life and finally got one at 40 years of age.

I've been pretty happy with my 2011 LS, coming from a 2013 Jetta TDI, and previously a 2002 Audi A6 4.2, the build quality isn't as good for sure, and I honestly thought I would never like the Camaro (never really cared much for the "outrageous" retro style).
But after owning one for awhile now, I like it quite a lot now... Even the limited visibility doesn't bother me after getting used to it (really need to get front and rear parking sensors!).

After ditching the crappy stock radio, the only thing I would like to change would be the power steering... I really wish it had the electric power steering the 2013+ (?) cars got.

Troll, Think Camaro is low quality, you'd be alarmed at the quality of Mustang.

Coming from a 2003 Silverado, the jump to the Camaro in my sig was great. Now coming from the Camaro to the Raptor, another jump up in quality.
The Camaro only had a seat problem where it wouldn't come up from being reclined. 36000 miles on it right now. So can't complain yet.
