Well since your so worried to show off gen 6 wheels apparently your maybe in a high Salt area? I live in Oregon in a 13 with 27k on the odometer on my SS a lot fo rain driving and have no rust on my rotors .....You can tape off the contact surfaces, then paint after a mild sanding...frankly the stock oiling/ what ever on mine has kept mine rust free for like 5 years now.... The first years of any car not so good for some things..... eventually though you will have to get new rotors and that may be the ticket if you don't want the PITA.....

For removing rust, you can either chemically remove it or mechanically remove it. It’s a messy, dirty job either way. You could also drop them at a shop and have them glass bead blasted. Sand blasting is a bit coarse for the braking surface, imo.

The other option is to use a rust neutralizing paint right over the rust.

The Vette guys were zinc plating their rotors a few years ago.

For a paint, I’d use an engine enamel which has some additional heat and chemical resistance.

New GM Brembo rotors come spray painted silver on all surfaces.

Black or silver would be my choice.

Mine were not that bad but I pulled mine off and painted the hats with some hi temp spray paint. Cost me no more than a can of spray paint and my time. Just make sure you knock off all that rust before you paint anything.

Like I said before instead of buying harsh chemicals to get rid of the rust just use a hundred percent natural white vinegar it neutralizes rust better than anything that you can buy expensive.

Naval jelly works the best.

One more method... electrolysis. It’s the same physics used to chrome plate, only in reverse.

Take the wheel off, 2 bolts to remove caliper, one star bolt that holds the rotor on, and then wire brush and paint the hat and perimeter. Just mask the wear surface. You don't want paint sliming up your pads.
Don't forget to replace the Torque To Yield (30lbs +90 degrees) bolts that hold the calipers on.

Steel bristle brush. Go over the area, and then put grease (Vaseline, or wheel bearing grease) over the sanded metal area. It will keep the rust away for a good while, and it looks much better.

Wire brush the loose rust, clean with IPA, then paint 2 coats of POR-15 High Temp Paint with a foam brush:

I've done numerous cars from daily drivers to garage queens. This is a daily driven GTO that I did over 5 years ago. It's owned by my father, sits outside 24/7, and still looks perfect to this day:
