Not much difference on spec. For some, perhaps a V6 just can't compensate where some may need compensating.

V6 Trans Am?

In my case, I apologize if another Camaro driver waves and I miss it because I am too busy texting.

I always acknowledge Camaros as I see them. I get the most responses from old school Camaros more than I do the new gen.

Yeah, having choice is what makes the world so cool. However, where I am from, the V-6 F-Bodies had their place, most of them were owned by High School kids or people that weren't into performance and just thought it looked cool. I only purchased F-Bodies because I raced a lot on a track and I was pretty good at building them for this purpose. If I am looking for a fuel efficient vehicle, I would not be looking at a Camaro to begin with.

V6 Trans Am?
Yeah, only one V-6 T/A and that was in 1989. The rest were Firebirds, but I think you can get my point....

You can say all you want about the Specs of a NEW V-6 Camaro and a OLD V-8 F-body, but at the time both V-6 models were new, The V-8 optioned car was a better choice for me because of what I do with the cars...I would always take a stripped down V-8 over a any V-6 no matter how it looked or how many options it has, just my personal preference.

Yup Bandit!
We are on the same page.

Fiance was getting her car washed this morning and she said whoa look at the blacked out camaro with those doors that open up in the air. I said yeah (almost face palmed myself) lambo doors. She said those are really kinda cool and hes got wide big tires and rims. I said yeah hes added some things. I got up went inside bought a drink came out and said "wheres that black camaro"? she said it left, I said "really,I didnt even hear it,did it sound nasty"?. she said "no I couldnt hear anything" with a puzzled look on her face. I laughed and said "typical"! lmao
that is the tool that will try to race me later, that doesnt deserve a wave.

I bought a V6 cause I want something with power/decent gas mileage as I drive to Galveston every other weekend from Austin . They also look good , just because you bought a V6 and not a SS/ZL1 doesn't mean you're any less of an enthusiast , people are being responsible and spending what they can afford . Without being put in a jam or losing anything else .

Yep. People are quick to post a thread when they upgrade from a V6 to a V8 but how many are honest when they have to turn in their SS or ZL1 from not being able to afford it? I've seen some of those threads but not nearly as many as the upgrade threads. I may look at a V6 sixth gen to go with my 1LE once my V6 fourth gen finally kicks the bucket. The fifth gen V6 Camaro is already a car than can be a smart and fun choice at the same time, the sixth gen will only be better.

I have had more Convertible Camaros wave at me than Coupes. But only when we both have the top down. It's just easier for the drivers to see each other waving or giving a thumbs up then.

the specs on the T/A beating the v6 camaro are so close, 5.9 sec. to 5.7. i bet if the v6 camaro weighed what the T/A weighed, then the V6 would probably be faster. amazing. i have a v6 and will wave at any new camaro , no matter if its a base LS or a ZL1. whats it matter? they are all great cars, and i think most folks who plop down the bucks for a camaro, will notice other camaros. no matter the engine size. but i remember in the 60's and 70's, my parents had an Airstream trailer, and whenever you came across another one, you always flashed your headlites to say hi. lordy lordy, those were the days. eat your heart out Wally Baynam

That's the thing, Put the current LS3 in the 4th gen T/A and then see how it does compared to the current V6 engine...

The only car that has given me a wave is the Shelby driver that lives across town. Since he started that we wave everytime we see each other..maybe once a week.
