What, was there was no labor cost involved with the Camaro? I guess that’s okay, because I did the install of everything on my car except setting up the gears, so my labor costs were $250.

Secondly, only ~$8,100 worth of the modifications you listed did anything to improve the power/times for the car. Everything else is cosmetic and does nothing to help the car get down the track.

Kenne Bell 2.8L Stage III supercharger kit $5000
Steeda Adjustable Upper Control Arm $279.95
Steeda Billet Aluminum Lower Control Arms $279.95
DSS One-Piece Aluminum Driveshaft $799.99 (Not necessary, but insurance)
Magnaflow Axlebacks $508.99 (Even though I only paid $300 for them).
Mickey Thompson 265/40/18 ET Street Radial $550
BMR LCA Relocation Brackets $134.95
AFCO Dual Pass Heat Exchanger $439.99
3.73 Gears $169.99

Thirdly, here’s the time slip you so desparately wanted to see, so let’s correct the numbers:

Total needed to run a 10.76 @ 131mph = $51,325
Total needed to run a 11.29 @ 121mph = $41,449

Difference in money to run 5/10th’s faster = $9,876

And I would be remiss if I did not point out that I have the ability to turn up the wick by another 80-100rwhp on my car with a pulley change and some race gas. You’re pretty much at the limits of the stock internals with the Camaro and will need to fill the bottle from time to time. That means even more $$ every time you hit the track.

Nice time..it's the exact same time as on dragtimes.com 10.76 @ 131 but that car is blue. For me it's good to know that with just 150 shot of NOZ and some parts i can run right with your...good times

The LS9 (same block just forged internals and VVT) is going to be badass...like the Z28...yeah!

btw. what was your OTD price for your GT500 since i just posted the base model price, what options did you choose?

Anyways, gratz on running.05 faster for $8K more out of pocket run that's awesome..

That's a pretty pathetic argument with the Nitrous, since you can apply laughing gas to a Hyundia and run those times, right before it implodes. Just enjoy what you drive, you seem a bit preoccupied.

Come on guys, if you are a real car enthusiast you need to give credit where its due. Ford did a nice job creating a good performing car that is aftermarket friendly (just like Toyota did with the Supra). Using forged internals and creating a motor that can handle way more power than stock is just smart. I'm not gonna hate on a member because he made a smart choice...I mean at these power levels (ie modded, not stock) the GT500 has no warranty either, so I don't know what you guys are complaining about.

Buy your SS for 33-34K, buy a short block (403/418) from Lingenfelter for $4800 (forged), then either run NOS, or put a TVS on it and call it a day. The money will be very similar to the GT500, but you'll have your SS and it will run with/out run the Gt500 all day. You will be hard pressed to win a Performance/value arguement vs the GT500 because of how easy and cheap it is to make them make power. IMHO unless your a dishonest person on the GT500, if you are gonna do a pulley, CAI, exhaust and tune and make 550+rwhp...you are voiding your warranty...again IMHO. I know there are those that will take all that stuff off when they take it back to the dealer in order to have warranty work done, but that would be one of the reasons our American Car makers are in the shape their in now.

Well, as far as the back and forth between Darric and myself, it was pretty much dead as of two days ago when we took it to the PM's.

I'm as ready as everyone else to see more from the OP about what the Gen5 is doing as things continue to get worked out on it. The last post I saw regarding that cars performance was when the time was updates to the 11.2x ET. Has anything happened since then?

no sir. 11.29 is the best it's ran so far. i have an idea that that was him at Sealy that people are talking about running 11.40's, but i haven't talked to him. i guess he's still messing with the tune. i know he told me he's going to keep working on it until he runs 10's

It'll be interesting to see how quick a 5th Gen can go on the IRS.

Nice set up......
I just want to say everyone I know with mods spends a lot of time with the car in the shop.....

So NOS isn't any worse than any other mods.....
For that matter people without any mods go see the nurse.....

I do notice most are in the shop when they start doing things outside of what was suggested.....
Because many with mods keeps it under or at the suggested levels and never see any trouble.....

Just an FYI, this thread is nearly 4 years old and that track time has been beaten a lot since then. You may have known that already, obviously there is a lot of newer information, parts, and times out now.
