I agree with the Mustang guys and I bleed chevy red.

You have to be on crack if you don't think the 2011 Mustang is going to sell well and be a formidable competitor sales wise to the Camaro. There is PLENTY of pent up demand for the car, and the car was already very popular. Now that the V6 version isn't completely anemic they will poach some V6 Camaro as well as 370Z and other equivalent car sales. Brand loyalty is thin these days, stop being a fanboy and face reality. It has nothing to do about which car is better, plenty of great cars didn't sell at all. The 2011 Camaro will have minor if any changes (probably trim or colors, and maybe some options), its still a hot car, but the pent up demand for the 5.0 Mustang will make it a tough few months when they become available.

I do hope the Camaro beats the Mustang again, but its gonna be a tight race, and definitely not easily won by either side.

You cant say the 2011 mustang and camaro are on the same level because you dont know what if anything they are doing to the 2011 camaro. I would guess nothing anyways though if I know GM.

Mustangs were cheaper too btw. But chicks dig them so of course they sell more.
"Chicks" buy cars. If they "dig" Mustangs I am sure Ford will welcome them with open arms.

Sales btw, knows no gender.

Also remember, the Camaro had a lot of pent up demand that has been driving it's sales, that is not going to last too much longer......

About 10 months ago we were hearing the excuse that 09 sales were down because people were waiting for 10's. Now it's the same for 10's. I can just see in a year mustang guys will be swearing that people are holding off for 2014.

Huh? What happened to Camaro5 while I've been gone? Camaro owners playing middle-of-the-road?

I'll stick w/ the hard core Camaro fans. Want to call it blind loyalty? fan boy? if this web site doesn't like it, so be it.

Back on topic, I hate to see any American lose their job. And as far as the new mustang, bring it on, competition breeds innovation.

Nope. And I'll tell you why:

Everybody's an expert
Everybody's right
Everybody's wrong
Everybody's got an opinion...

and apparently now...

Everybody can see the future.

This creates what's called an endless loop...and in computers, this is when we hit the "shut down" button.

The 2011 Mustang will provide us some real competition. Their puny 300 hp for the GT is like a knife in a gunfight, but the new 5.0 evens things out. Even the V6 got new life (actually a whole new V6) and has more hp than the V6 Camaro. With the weight advantage, stock SS cars (like mine !!) will have to sweat a little at stoplights next year.........

The 5.0 will be the perfect crate motor for a Cobra replica. They've engineered it for direct injection and forced induction too. People routinely crank >1,000 hp from heavy boost on their existing cammer crate motor. This one will really rock.

Wow great job completely splicing out my entire comment to make it sound completely different.

To respond, believeing everyone on the planet is either Camaro or Mustang is ridiculous, and saying something like that alienates those members who have an appreciation for all cars. Believing the Camaro will win "just because" is a ridiculous argument. I believe the Camaro is a better car as do most of us, but people need to be a bit more realistic, its not middle of the road, its called practicality.

As for my last comment, that you so spliced to meet your needs, the person I was replying to basically said it serves these 900 Workers right to lose their jobs because they were directly responsible for GM killing the Camaro in 2002. Thats a pretty messed up thing to say about a guy who hangs doors for 8 hours a day to put food on the table or a gal who bolts on wheels to pay for her kids school. Its a goddamn car not a religion, its one thing being loyal to your brand, but seriously these are peoples lives.

AND THE WORST PART IS NOBODY EVEN READ THE DAMN ARTICLE! These people are being placed in other jobs anyway at other Ford plants, so we are arguing over nothing!

It's pretty sad and pathetic when you have people that actually actually think that Ford laying off 900 people is a good thing just because the camaro is outselling the mustang. Seriously grow up. 900 layoffs in this country during this time is not a good thing no matter what it entails.
