Why bash other gearheads? The four banger turbo may be a nice driver.
Should get reasonable gas millage and look sporty.

No he's not. I love the sound of the V6 too, especially with an xpipe.

I had a 2LT and now a 2SS. The 2SS sounds MUCH better IMHO. It isn't even NPP. The V6 didn't sound bad and when you WOT it has a nice sound. But it doesn't have the sweet growl of the V8.

Ill chime in on this. I last owned a camaro back in the mid 90s. I owned a 1995 z28 camaro which had a 275 hp engine. Loved the car. PLENTY of power, and PLENTY of low end torque. In fact, i purchased a mustang gt later on, and the horsepower was similar, but the low end torque wasnt there. I say all that to say, its not the horsepower per se, its how they set up the engine to give you that low end torque.

Now, if you dont care about torque, but horsepower, the new v6 and V4 engines that ford and gm are making are plenty powerful enough. Its about what the individual wants. Me, im glad they are offering v4 and v6 engines that give v8 performance, but have better gas mileage.

When i purchase a Camaro next year, i initially was gonna look at a RS V6 model. I think im going with a SS ONLY because GM tends to put most of its content into that package. The better engine is just a bonus with me. I know i could get a fully loaded RS model, but why not just spring for the top dog and call it a day??

I must have never heard a good set up then cause I've heard quite a few V6s with aftermarket exhaust and they all sounded like pure ass.

I test drove a SS for the first time a couple days ago. I initially wanted a RS v6, but after driving the SS......all bets are off...........SS all the way...........

just yesterday I was neck & neck with a ZL1. he would pull ahead, then I would pull ahead. neither one of us able to get a large lead.
I am sure he was enjoying his V8 more than I the V6.

Traffic congestion is a bitch.

I had a 2004 GTO before I bought my SS. The GTO had the sorriest brakes of any car I've ever owned. They actually felt unsafe when needing to stop quickly. The #1 factor for me deciding on the SS vs the V6 was the Brembo brakes. But I also love that smooth, powerful V8 (and everything else about the car).

Now that's what I'm talking about. Night and day difference except for the exterior. I too have yet to hear a good sounding 6cyl. Standards must be pretty low to be happy with that sound. Marginally better than a 4cyl Civic.
