I can't tell from the pictures, are your wheels Polished Aluminum, or Midnight Silver (RS standard)?

Thanks!

when you say "GM Clearcoat" what do you mean? just a generic gm clearcoat touchup spray from the auto part store, or ? any chance you can put together a DIY for this, in regards to spraying the clear, then blending it into the rest of the wheel's clear?

They'd have to be the polished ones. The midnight silver would have to be repainted, not just re-cleared.

Autozone GM clear coat (the book at AZ will tell you the correct part number for the GM spray) it is a generic GM clear coat. If you dont care to spray there is also a touch up with a brush. I masked an area a little larger that the repair and sprayed softly to keep from causing runs. It blends very well, and since it is a clear coat in a rim it is extreemly difficult to see where the new clear coat is applied. This weekend i will use a rubbing compound to smooth it out if it needs it. Maybe even a clay bar to remove any over spray.

I honestly can not tell where my spray went, it blends very well.

Now that you have finished your "Coon-Assed" wheel repair, here is your Coonass logo to go with it.

LOL no. Not trying to sell it.. I know a lot of people get curb rash and start looking to buy a new rim or pay someone to do it....

At $7 for a can or Clear Coat, and $4.50 for sand paper I thought someone could save some money if they had the same thing happen.. A new rim runs over $250 when you add mounting etc...

As far as for re-balancing, I am not sure. I have driven it with no shake or feeling other than normal up to 45 mpg.. Ill get it up to speed tomorrow and see if i need a re-balance... It is a rear wheel and not a front wheel so I may not notice it.

Coon-Asses are people from South Louisiana between Lake Charles, New Orleans and Alexandria.. LOL..
You may want to be careful when using the term Coonass. To some Cajuns it`s an ethnic slur to others it`s a term of pride.

I am one. I may use it as I see fit.... Those that have problems with the term. Well..... They have bigger issues to worry about in my opinion.
