If I read the thread correctly, the Whipple equipped car was completely stock with cast iron exhaust manifolds whereas the maggie equipped car was fitted with long tubes. If this were the case, it would not be a legitimate comparison. I have posted my real word iat's in the above post from logging on the street and the strip. I would like to see someone's southern florida street and strip logging iat's on their Whipple equipped L99 with long tubes for a better comparison. |

I live in Corpus Christi which is nasty hot and humid. Routinely have mid 90's on temp with 65+% humidity for a combined heat index in the 105-115 range. No problems as a daily driver for the last 9 months since I had it done. I went with Hennessey 600 hp package and with their expertise can lead you down the right path to glory.
Call James, who is the sales manager for a great conversation. |

Its pretty simple, the Whipple air-to-water intercooler is bigger and has far more surface area then any of the other positive displacement superchargers. Combine this with the increased efficiency levels of the twin-screw and you have very low air temps. You also have intercooled, bypass'd air where the maggie does not. |

I beleive usmj`s post that i quoted a few posts up on this thread was asked after the final iteration of his build. I could be wrong, Idon`t have time to read through it again. However, like I said before if you really want to know you should really call Tim at T&T and ask him rather than asking me, or reading through 433 posts.. I mean he sells both maggies and whipples and he is about as unbiased as you can get.

The last sentence is simple, The Whip system has the bypass system below the intercooler, meaning this, when the motor has more than 2" of vacuum, its circulating intercooled air, not un-intercooled air. If you don't cool this air, the air temp rises during vacuum opertaion. This is more critical on screw compressors, but, is still important to the new roots type SC's, especially the TVS. |

On the debate of underhood temps with headers vs manifold. If your talking mild steel headers vs cast Iron Manifolds then yes, absolutly does the stock manifold keep heat down over the header but on stainless steel it will be a different story. Stainless Steel probably holds the heat in just as well as the stock cast iron manifold and a coated stainless steel header probably holds it in better. If I were not right then I see no way the new Ford Mustang or Toyota Tundra would get a shorty stainless steel header from the factory.
