They put tires on this car that you cant rotate? Arent you supposed to rotate tires every other oil change or every 6k miles?

My under standing is that if all tiers are of the same size, Width & High, they are inter changeable and you should rotate your tiers as M.F. Suggests or Requires.
But if it states on the tire its one directional way w/arrow it can only go side to side. If the rear tier is larger than the front, Then NO (!), you can not rotate the tiers at all ! I have gone over this several times to get it right, with my tier company's for all my cars. "if in dough ask a local tier place, they will know !, they are a good resource ". Hope this helps ? |

let me reiterate, these tires are not Unidirectional (if they were unidirectional they would have a L or R on the tires and/or an arrow for directional instructions). They are Assymetric, meaning the outside of the tire marked outside is too stay on the outside of the rim. that's it. rotate from side to side as you please. or not. your decision, it just increases tire life.
here is a little FYI: our section that applies to different size tires is in the middle of the FAQ http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=43 Last edited by mr. anderson; 10-07-2010 at 11:26 AM. |

correction, sorry Wayne, if you have the 20's, then yes, if you have the 18's or 19's, no regular rotation would apply. if your tires are stock and are the same size front and back rotate them regularly. if you have 20's rotate side to side.

Just an FYI, side to side rotation is suggested by Pirelli for staggered setups...http://www.us.pirelli.com/web/techno...t/default.page

You guys have lost me on this issue
I have the 20's and the tire guy I go to, (he services a lot of Supercars and races himself), "keep the tires properly inflated. No reason to go side to side". So, I guess I go with him, though there certainly appears to be plenty or room for discussion.

The 20" PZero on the SS is NOT directional. Look at the tread on your left tire then look at your right. They are mirror image. They would look the same if you rotated them, but why would you? Typical rotation is for each front to go straight back and each rear cross to the front. We obviously can't do that with stock tires.

what's the point of rotating tires "left to right"? do you make more hard left turns than right? is your alignment off on the left side, and you want to unevenly wear out your other tire as well? on any other car, you aren't "supposed" to rotate tires at any mileage based times. if, on your other vehicles, you see any difference in tread wear between front and back - then go ahead and rotate your tires. |

This is ridiculous. Can't we get like Camaro Scotty, or somebody who is an actual EXPERT on this car to give us a straight answer? We got 3 different opinions going on here....
