[QUOTE=sawsda;2676997]Right! Its been a while since i've been around so i figure its about time i update on the car...

I haven't had the pleasure of ridding myself of that absolutely annoying noise yet, by any chance did you replace the fuel pump with another one in your camaro?

No but I will sometime this week

So! Today was finally the day...

My fuel pump died once again

Had it towed home...what a sad...sad sight....

watching my poor car bob up and down on the rough streets around here was no picnic either :(

Being a camaro...low and all...its a mini heart attack when you hit a bump

Well, looks like i'm going to be busy this weekend replacing yet another fuel pump

While i'm at it, i might take a look at the fuel filter, i read somewhere that might be the culprit.

and FOR SURE doing that trap door mod

01pewterz28, any idea where i can find some info on that?

I had something happen to a van I which may have something to do with your Camaro. I thought I had a fuel pump go out. When I put a test light on the pump hot wire there was no electricity. There was a module on the dash that is supposed to kill the fuel pump in the event of a crash to help eliminate fuel release. The module was very expensive so I wired around it and made sure everyone knew about this if they drove the van. I suggest you test your pump first to see if it is getting electricity. If I remember correctly the module messed up once or twice before it finally died. I'm not sure if the car computer takes care of this function now or the Camaros still use a module.

hmm...this might actually have something to do this since right before it died, i had a spike in voltage (i think, i was too busy preparing for the inevitable stall) it might just be that...thanks!

These cars are notorious for fuel pump issues. Buy a good fuel pump dont buy the cheapest one. Always replace the fuel filter when replacing the pump. Make sure o rings etc are up to snuff and all clamps are tight etc. I do remember the fuel cap issue as well but I forget what caused the issue. Once you do it 2 or 3 times you get real good at doing them.

Sorry to hear she broke down on ya... Let us know how the fuel filter swap works out- should be an easy/cheap swap.

Also, when was the last time you changed your spark wires? Seems like you've been hitting the fuel delivery aspect pretty hard- can't hurt to check the spark.

I drove a 99 B4C police Camaro LS1 and it and the LT1 95 Caprice I drove both had to have engine coils replaced more than once. Mechanic said the coils needed to be hot and even though the engine didn't show a code his diagnostic computer indicated the coils were bad.

The spark wires are up next actually if a new fuel pump doesn't help

But we isolated the noise and it is the pump, so it will need to be replaced regardless

we're actually in the process of replacing it right now

i'll post some pics a bit later
