Lately I've been having alot of problems with getting my car to start.
Long cranks before anything, at points you can hear th engine WANTS to start, but just wont. We thought it was the fuel pump, promptly replaced it, and were fine, for a while. Now, we're back to the same issues. Any ideas? -long start -sometimes fuel pump is LOUD (you can hear it over the radio at points) -sometimes the fuel pump is barely audible when turning the key to ignition

Shot in the dark, but I've been having trouble gettin the 02 to start dude to a bad gascap. Try opening the cap before to turn her over.

Better keep a close eye, doubtful it was bad gas. If it were, I have a feeling you'd have worse issues... Hopefully it will keep running well, keep us updated man

I have same problem with my 94 3.4 manual 5 speed. A lot of my problems went away when I put on a new fuel cap. Some how my car seems to loose fuel system prime. To avoid long cranking I turn the ignition on but don't start. I put my seat belt on to give the system time to prime and usually starts quicker than if I just get in and immediately try to start the car. If the car has only been turned off for less than thirty minutes it'll fire right off. If the car has been sitting for a few days I usually turn the key on, wait then pump the accelerator once then hit ignition and normally it fires right off. My brother says he thinks its an O ring around a fuel injector or maybe the seal on the gas tank. My car never loses gas and I don't smell raw fuel? I don't drive my 94 enough to justify a lot of expense to find the problems but Seafoam seems to help a little if it gets hard to start.

![]() Replace the gascap, and try turning on the AC power for a second before you crank the engine- just to let the sending unit do it's thing before you turn her over. This has been working for me.

Right! Its been a while since i've been around so i figure its about time i update on the car...
I haven't had the pleasure of ridding myself of that absolutely annoying noise yet, by any chance did you replace the fuel pump with another one in your camaro? Quote:
1. turn it to ignition, 2. let the pump do its thing(its audible all the time now) 3. then crank I usually have to repeat steps 1 and 2 about 6 times now before she turns over. If I'm in cold weather i have practically no issues, no noise from the fuel pump, nothing And another issue popped up, unless i'm filled up to about half a tank, when i idle at a stop light, oil pressure drops pretty alarmingly. Short Version : Car not fixed. Cold weather helps the pump issue. Hot weather sabotages the pump. & new issue: Unless i'm filled up to about half a tank, when i idle at a stop light, oil pressure drops.

The other one never made the noise, just one day decided it had enough and quit lol I'm seriously considering replacing it again, through warranty naturally
