Just from my experience most cops don't care...now dept of safety, state troopers, etc do care.

I've driven for 10yrs w/o front license plate and got pulled over by dept of safety officer for no front license plate.

My truck's been front plate free since 2003 and the Camaro for a year now. I think the front plate infraction is more a "if they want to pull you over, they use that" kind of thing. The plate covering, I can see though.
