I'm going to put my .02 cents in on price, the ZL1 will be slightly under the GT500 price tag.
Keep in this in mind, what you paid for your SS, and if you paid a premium like I did, now factor all the mods you did, SC + suspension , that alone exceeds or very close to 50K............. So 50K for a factory supercharged car you don't have to worry about warranty issues, is a win win......................... Thats why I bought the CTS-V and now trading up Z06 to ZR1 I have had spent $$$ since SC'ed to fix issues on Veteran1 that would have been covered by a warranty!

I've been very happy with my V6, but was waiting to see what was going to happen in the future. And here it is. I think they will try and keep it just a hair lower than the GT500. If I didn't go with the ZL1 as it is, I was going to take the SS rout, supercharge it, and the whole 9 yards. But looking at how this car is, you don't have to do anything to it! I'd tint the windows, put on some black billet bow ties, and not touch a thing! 50K would be very reasonable IMO for this type of car. |

$52,000 + $12,000 dealer mark up= way too much money IMO.

Then don't pay the markup. It's certainly not a required cost.

Well this is subject to options really, at least I hope so. I'm hoping that the base bare bones price will be around 50k. With the options adding another 5k to 10k depending on what you want with your Camaro. The big plus here is the 3 year warranty for the customers who want piece of mind. To have a stock vechicle to enjoy and to perform with only light modifications, and without voiding the three year warranty is a real plus.
From the live chat they had yesterday afternoon, the ZL1 is still being fine tuned. The players such a fbodfather will be reading these forums for our opinions and concerns and this may help develop some new options or changes. The car is awesome and we will have our likes and dislikes for the new camaro, and were fortunate to have so many after market companies represented on this forum. We may just have to wait for some on the new mods to be developed down the road, which is fine with me considering the intial cost of the ZL1. My prediction the MSRP will start as $48,995.00 and the top side with all the options will be $57,995.00 Last edited by Z4me; 02-10-2011 at 10:03 AM. |

Is it to unrealistic to say it could be 10-15K more then a base 2SS? seeing as there is a 5-10k jump between each trim at this point?

You're best bet at this point is to compare it to a GT500 and CTS-V.
It has the V's equipment (plus some more) in a Camaro package meant to compete directly against the GT500. fwiw... |

Despite my affinity for the GT500... I definitely pitched a tent looking at the ZL1 pictures.
i'd take one. I'm thinking $52k out the door.
