There will be NO complaints from me if this is the route they take, although
as said numerous times it would be nice to hear what the plan is. This close
to production, They should know were they stand.

If ABL fails at this point we will be notified by GM in due time. No references to ABL being non-functional could be viewed as a GOOD sign. GM employs well educated and experienced engineers. My belief, until informed by otherwise by GM, is that ABL will be in the car.

Even if GM decides not to put it in the car, there will be a credit on the window sticker and that's the end of it. There's no "we owe" from the dealer or GM. They have the legal right to change anything on a vehicle before it's produced and shipped.

They are well educated and expearienced engineers????
Maybe just no common sense with the decision you have to have summer tires even if you live in Alaska???

Sorry - not that familiar with weather in Alaska but I assume that there is at least a summer-like season there when driving is more conducive to a sports car type automobile. How many RWD high powered vehicles do you see on the road when the snow is flying or when there is even the possibility of ice or snow? GM knows this and perhaps may be taking advantage of that scenario. However, if they supplied all-weathers, would the cost go up. I also see their use of summer tires as a word of caution. I do not work at GM. I am trying to be reasonable and not second guess GMs take on things.

So how are both of you so sure? Are you just saying that this is what they "must" do in your opinion or that you've actually heard these things from a source?

1/4 inch plywood for the door panels until ABL is ready. You can paint it your own color.

For easy update the plywood will be held in place by duct tape and coat hangers.

I think it's just a matter of sales or not. Strong sells = ABL on the way $$$ with some moonnnaay to pay for it. It probably got too expensive. If they can't make a reasonable profit from it. Got to remember labor cost aspect not just the part.

I'd be happy with the price of the car being lowered a bit if no ABL. But even better would be for them to give "vouchers" or something like that to be able to get it installed. That way I could take it to any dealer that I'd feel comfortable having add it after the fact. GM can ship them the parts and pay them x amount of dollars for however many hours they determined the install should take. Just like any other kind of warranty work any Chevy dealer should be allowed to do the install.

It will be in the cars and working. Quit panicking over such a small issue guys. How hard do you think it is to figure out something as simple as ABL. I have seen a production Camaro with WORKING ABL...............................
