this one would be cool.. looks like a lot of work though

I guess the wireless one might be the best bet, but I don't know if you can just set it to 0 and 100%.

I want 0 to 100%. After all, who uses 30% open and other "partial settings"? I have had them for a couple years now and I have never wanted them partially open. I wish they would go straight to 100% without holding a toggle for 10sec. It would be nice if their motor had a lower gear ratio so they could open as fast as the factory Z06 cutouts (which are awesome by the way).

I know this thread is old....

But,does anybody who has installed them behind the rear end have a better/clearer picture from the rear of the Car to see how far down the Cutouts hang?

I am considering this alternate location but, I don't have GM's ground affects which would seem to hide them a bit more.

It is important to me how they appear looking at the rear of the car.

I have the GM ground effects. I bet they do hide the cutouts a little better. I am not sure how much they would show with a stock diffuser, but you could always use black header spray paint to help hide them.

I am still digging mine.

I can get a few more pics if it would help... although my car is up on jack stands because I am powder coating my calipers.

Thanks Man,

I really like this location at the rear. This is where I think they should be placed on every Car.

Any additional pics would be greatly appreciated when you have time.

Thanks looks good.

I ordered them from Summit Racing and going to give it a shot.
I think I'll polish out the turn downs...depends on how they look, they were only $20 a piece.

This is the info I have been looking for. Got a pic of the cutouts with respect to the mufflers?

Yep, Thanks. I have been thinking about this location as well because there is not enough room near the headers as my car is lowered and have clearance problems.

You will want to get oval pipe from Dr.Gas.com... unless you can find it somewhere else.

To get the cutouts as high as possible and facing downwards... I had to do some creative cutting on the oval pipe.

Here was my CAD drawing...

Notice the v-notch just before the flange. I had that notch cut by wire EDM, and I bent the tube to make the faces meet. Then I had the seam welded which created the downward bend.

That's cool man...

Yeah, I'm going to custom make something to get them up as high as possible and all the way back. Turn them down rite behind the rear Valance as dumps.

As I lengthen the QTP turndowns and turn them into dumps,I'm going to match the profile of the Valance horizontally.

I finally got them welded up and installed.I really like this rear exit Idea.
I made some small deflectors out of the scrape Oval tubing to direct the exhaust away from the Valance.

I also bolted the cut outs together with strap metal for added rigidity

Hope these pics help out for anyone else deciding to go this route with the QTP cutouts.

That looks great. Plenty of clearance and they are hidden very well. I also like the black coating.

Any more pics of the deflectors?

Have you started it up? vids?
