I wonder if AMD has thought of this or NVIDIA for that matter. I mean this thought process could have people building there own computer componants.
I was just answering his question.

For a lot of the exhausts out there, people are finding that they are reducing the weight of the car. Is that worth hundreds of dollars? I don't think so, but I'm sure coupling that with the sound helps.

I also think people are used to getting exhausts. Think back to the days when exhausts were restrictive and your only solution was to get a name brand alternative. People are used to throwing Flowmasters, Magnaflows, Borlas, Corsas, and all those other brands on their cars. When they get a new performance vehicle, they do it naturally now. It's just a hypothesis.

Your stripes are fine, I was giving you a hard time and basically answering your question in the same fashion that you asked. You came off sounding like "Why do people do this!?", when in reality people do things sometimes just for the heck of it or for fun, or to see if they can, and so on.. if we were all the same this would be a very boring world.

(^) A good point to keep in mind, guys...

Not everyone is an expert, and it's up to those of us who know to help them out.

That said...if all you're looking for is sound and you'd like to save some $$$ - look into a muffler delete....

It's all good, saying things in forums often come off a bit different than they do in person.

There's a sticky thread in regards to exhaust sounds and what not.. Personally I think you should try to go to an auto show or something and listen to the different sounds to get an opinion on what you want. To me the MRT v2 sounds the best plus it's not that much..

I sometimes wonder if they had painted the stock mufflers black, would people have minded as much?

They were designed to help improve the aerodynamics of the car - just to be clear...the designers weren't blind.

(Actually, you'll find similar units on cars from other brands/manufacturers, now that I think of it)
