I have to agree. It makes no sense to not have the build site up and running for a car that already exist. Ford and dodge both let you build both years when the new model year comes out. The GM's site is very frustrating as a whole. I think dodge has the best site for building and locating vehicles.

Well..........

I wonder if there's more to it than we're aware? Quite bold of some of us to pretend the teams of people who oversee their websites are "dumb"...in big capital letters...

FWIW, the customer service rep that can be accessed from the website informed me that it was set to be updated Sept 6th...

We'll see, I guess....

That would make my day. I hope the brochures are at least posted soon too. There's a '12 brochure up for the Colorado and Sonic already.

You can build the '12s on many other websites- Edmunds, Consumer Reports, Sams Club, and probably more- before GM's own website.... nice!!

I still dont understand. Soo you can build a car on the site and. The pics they give you look like a realy good drawing. If there is a color or a set up your looking for well Ill bet you can find what your looking for right on this site. Pretty much any color combo or body kit and stripe kit.

DUMB is what I called it and staying with it...GM that is, the web site guys are not the ones that make the call...

Here is the deal. Have a find site for all the years on the lot. A build site for the car you are now selling. Or as mentioned above, build for each year with a find car link.

I mean I see '12s on the street and the build is still for 11s. Just strange or dumb....the site still shows 11s...maybe they mean the 6th of OCT...

Ya, I think you have something there. But I find most not to have the full knowledge of the Camaro. Also I would rather avoid the pain of a sales person tell I know what can be ordered (color, con-fig etc) and have a price goal. Like you sig...cram in the blower...

My current information shows that the website should be updated today. The brochures should be out September 8th. That's the most up to date information that I have at this time.

Still 2011 Jeff, when fighting for customers this makes no sense. Maybe a Boss? nah but have had some drive train issues with my 09 GMC truck and thinking twice about the Camaro to bring back my MC years. Not taking care of little things makes one wonder about what else falls through.

Maybe a Challanger, nah...but GM is the company that killed the Pontiac and any hope of another real GTO or T/A...???

Thanks for the reply, Jeff

If you want to see the current nationwide inventory, you need GM GlobalConnect. It is the most up-to-date tool that GM salespeople use, and you can only get access to the results from a dealer.
Answer to all of that.

We got a Vette and never had to leave the house.

Right. They will most certainy lose millions over this. I hope they survive.

And what is different by way of price and build appearance?

Stex...I'm not going to pick your post apart piece-by-piece like I usually might...

Just do me a favor. Don't "Nice try" someone who's attempting to help you out. It's outrageously rude.

I did end with a thank you...and pick away....I have bought nothing but GM since the 60s ( one 280 z did slip in there) and the latest of such drive trains and their little things like the build site are showing to me slippage. :( The Camaro is my bright star for GM. The Vett too.

This discuission has gone off course. My orginal post was it is dumb to not have the build site showing '12s when people are driving them and that is all you can order. and I stand by that.

I am sure Jeff is trying to help but even his info is off some. Not Jeff's fault I am sure.
