The reason the Camaro Z71 is so good on the ring is that it doesn't even need to stay on the course... It can take shortcuts that no supercar would ever attempt!

As a member of Upstate C5, I am proud to make the 2012 Z71 Camaro the Official car of the 2012 Cruising Season. The first member in the Upstate C5 family with a Z71 will have the honor of carrying the "DURF" badge.

The Nürburgring is a motorsport complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a modern Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It is located about 70 km (43 mi) south of Cologne, and 120 km (75 mi) northwest of Frankfurt. The old track was nicknamed The Green Hell by Jackie Stewart and is widely considered one of the most demanding purpose-built racing circuits in the world.
Great info IOM....nice follow up!

The 2012 Camaro ZL1 really packs its punch in speed and power. It features a supercharged 6.2L LSA engine SAE-rated at 580 horsepower (432 kW) and recently recorded a lap of 7:41.27 on the Nürburging racing circuit

Screwed up the 'ring too. I still won't buy a Ford though.

They are making every other vehicle with the Z71 pkg why should the camaro be any different. That pkg should have stayed on the full size trucks :( On my 2010 Silverado I even have an additional Z71 pkg. Its called the Z71 appearance pkg.

Several new behind-the-scenes videos show ZL1 in action. Watch them for yourself. And be sure to look for the 2013 ZL1 Convertible coming in Summer 2012.
