Mine is a 231/247 617/623 on a 114 straight up. It's a good cam for a whipple. Opened up exh duration a little for the blower. But remember that my goal was a nasty n/a sounding cam, that makes good power and it blower friendly. I believe that vengeance will possibly be making this an off the shelf stage 3 blower cam, but go direct with Kevin on that...
There are more ideal, better blower grinds, but mine was goal oriented.

I have the same cam spec in my LS3 with a TVS 2300, but mine has a 115 LSA, sounds sick and makes pretty good power with the sorry 91 octane fuel we have here, it also has an awesome Jannetty tune on it and drives really well.

If you want a whole lot of noise and body shake, that's as good as any other cam that's too big for the job. Depends on your wants and needs. If you want and desire a cam that fits the rest of the combo (4200# car that's smooth and refined), something else is in order. You can make similar power with a whole lot less drama. Your call...

I love the shake and rough idle. That's why I did this one. Here's 2 clips, one backed near the garage door, one out in the street away from anyting, both to temp, no cold starts W/CATS!!!

Does anyone have the new Vengeance Blower cam installed that can share how it drives?

They only have up to their stage 2 blower cam advertised, but if you're talking about mine, that Kevin is possibly gonna use as their stage 3 blower cam, that's it. Matter of fact, my cam card says "Vengeance stage III blower"...

Maybe not around my old stompin grounds, Houston, or Tampa, or any big city I guess, but around here it is. Can't go anywhere without attention. I love the sound. There are several LSX's that are cammed around here, but not a boat load...
My desire in whatever car I build is a nasty idle and forced induction power... on the street that is. For the track, whatever makes it fast. Idle don't matter, it just has to be able to idle, and go big on spray. I have a video of my first nitrous pass in my f-body in November. 2002 Z28, 20k miles, mint, Stock 78mm tb, intake, ls1 with a TSP MS3 on a 111, 200 shot plate kit, Rossler 4L65E w/brake, 3600 stall, MWC 9" 4.11 gears, locker, 275/60 dr's. 20% hit at 3800, the rest of the shot ramped over 1 second. Weak launch at 1.65ish 60 ft. 6.77 @ over 105 mph. http://www.streetfire.net/video/mike...-1_2351875.htm

I had ordered the stage II Blower cam that HufferSS had in his vehicle but Kevin is sending me the new blower cam. This cam has specs that are a little different then yours. I am afraid that its a little to big for me, I really want a cam that makes good power with my D1SC but that has little drama and good drivability.

Mine is not drama, just a little more rpm's to take off, cruising under 1700 rpm's is a little stumble, but tolerable and I have OCD. Idle is sick, power is good, but with a centrifical blower, I'd go with a tighter LSA to help with the tq. Only centrifical blower to make high tq numbers, that I've seen is the ECS Paxton setup. My '06 GTO big n/a cam, D1SC setup was weak on tq. It was 651rwhp/545rwtq. Ran a 238/242 605 609 on a 112, which is a n/a cam, too much overlap, but I wanted overlap to bleed off boost, I thought, didn't know much about FI cams then. I would do the same cam on a 114 or up, to do it over, but that was an LS2, cathedral ported heads... Ran nice, idle'd sick, but there were more efficient cams, but I went against the grain.

This car was a pleasure to work on and Mike, you are a great guy. It was nice meeting you.
As I expressed, the cam is wrong for that application which is why it makes such big low speed power as it is trapping cylinder pressures in that range. We can either change the cam or put a different one in the spare motor |
