check the fuse rating, that usually will indicate the amp's 'true' capable output(not exaggerated/MAX power)..and S/N ratio(higher=better) will determine if that amp will push distortion(irregular, damaging wavelengths) to your subs.

If I had to choose between the 2, go w/ PA(considering they're all 'flea-market' worthy). Run it 4ohms bridged/2ohms stereo only, as it is unstable at lower/increased loads. Keep it from overheating and don't expect more from the amp(you don't want to torch your SS). Lastly, consider a ported enclosure to get the most bass from your set-up.

"lastly, doubling an amp's power means only increasing your volume by 3db. "

dude, that's twice as loud already...

Try craigslist and find an old RF Punch 45 or something similar. Almost any older Mosfit amp will blow away what you are looking at. You can get it cheap and probably have more rms going to your speakers than what you have now.

You might also consider a top tier brand that has a lower wattage so it's affordable. You would get true rms that pushes your speakers better and cleaner than junk overated cheap stuff claiming big numbers. If you don't believe what you are being told here, go to a good audio dealer and get the same story.

I agree with Double D, spend a little more and get a Powerbass. Theyre fairly decent for a cheap amp or go on craigslist and buy something used thats a good brand.

That will defintely push them. I've used that amp a few times and had great success with it.
