Here's some information that may actually help you, and others who want to drive their Camaros avoid getting another ticket in the future.

ive learned that (if you arent doing something all that bad) if you say that youre sorry like 3 times while he is up there getting you license registration and all that good stuff that youll probably get a warning. i got pulled for i think it was 72 in a 55 (i had no clue i was going that fast the road was empty) and i ended up getting warning. i did a burnout and got a warning and i got a warning for a seat belt. im not saying its ok to speed though. but yeah i hate speed cameras.

What really gets me is that the operations manual for the photo company was published in the news awhile back, and it says no tickets are to be issued to cars registered to: cops, judges or any city official. Double standard? I'll either go to traffic school or ignore it until the expiration date...If you don't respond to the letter, they run out of time after 180 days, if they can't serve you, and you are off the hook. Real crooks. They are NOT getting the money to the city coffers.
OP, have to say I agree with you about the wording of your citation, but this is most likely because the violation is civil in nature not "criminal" (doesn't effect your driving record). If this is the case, most likely they have worded it that way because of the differences in calibration procedures. The burden of proof being less in a civil matter means that they only have to test their machines say once a month or every 3 months where as an officer (at least here in DE) has to calibrate and log his radar and/or Lidar twice a shift..... once prior to use and once at the end of shift/use in order to prosecute a traffic citation.
Here we only have red light cameras.... I can tell you, if "we" run one of them in our patrol vehicle and are not responding to a call not only do we have to pay the civil fine, but we are also subject to getting suspended...so not everyone gets the fair end of the double standard.
Gotta say I hold mixed emotions on the cameras..... at least here... they catch alot more violators than I ever could, but they have caused some minor accidents as well...people overreact to the cycle of the light.
Here if a violation is not paid they attach it to your registration file.... if you don't pay or fight it....then you can't re-register your vehicle until you do.

Yes, some radars do detect speed cameras. However, some radar detectors have to get updated as new speed cameras are put in place.

Right now, the city in which I live, has red light cameras and speed cameras. However, we are just about ready to pass a bill to ban this system! Can't freaking wait.

Here in SC you cannot get a robo ticket by a passive device without any human interaction associated with it. You must be handed a ticket by a real police officer in person. Whodathunkit?

I got a ticket from a photo camera over the summer. They got me doing 47 in an 25. I don't know how it happened because I was making a left hand turn and the camera is at a intersection. So I went from 0-47 in 100 feet. I showed many people (even Camaro owners) the turn and the camera and they said there is no way I could have got my little V6 to go from 0-47 in 100 feet.

In NC you can't get a ticket unless an officer witnessed the act. Here the camera's are used as a tool in case the officers isn't able to catch up to you to write the ticket.

What gets me is the double standard. In Peoria, the red light cameras were removed. Accidents increased by 26% when they were started. One day while I was sitting at Starbucks, I saw 4 cars get flashed, and all had solid green lights. Talk about crooked! Here in AZ, the ticket does affect your record, and insurance.
