D*** photo radar

Got a letter in the mail today saying the photo crooks clocked me at "approximately" 60 in a 45 zone. One, the 45 zone is a 6 lane divided highway, and it is a speed trap in a small town outside Phoenix. I wasn't doing 60, and since when is "approximately" a valid ticket? What really gets me is that the operations manual for the photo company was published in the news awhile back, and it says no tickets are to be issued to cars registered to: cops, judges or any city official. Double standard? I'll either go to traffic school or ignore it until the expiration date...If you don't respond to the letter, they run out of time after 180 days, if they can't serve you, and you are off the hook. Real crooks. They are NOT getting the money to the city coffers.

And how are they supposed to know if your a cop, judge or city official? Its not like it lists your job title on the registration.

That is one thing in your rant I 100% agree with. WTF?

I'm sure this will get closed soon since it is anti-cop and you pointed out a double standard.

They'll know if they have a DMV confidentiality form on file. WHen they run the plate it'll come back 10-35, or come back to the department that you work for.

Here in good old L.A. they gave up on photo tickets...Turns out the whole thing was basically an honor system for paying...There was no mechanism for collecting or enforcing the issued citations....

Not a fan of speeding or LEO bashing, but I think the days of photo enforced citations are numbered.

Not long ago a family member got one of those tickets [camera ] ones here in Northen CA , he was doing a rolling stop at 8 mph , the crooks sent him the link to their website and he saw the video of himself . Oh , the company was/still is based in AZ , yeah in your beloved State , do you feel better now ?

Down with the cam's!

Here in NM, it's always a coin toss as to when the cameras are activated because the city gov't wants to milk them for coffers while the state gov't argues that they do nothing to prevent accidents and are a waste of money; literally a coin toss as to when they're on.

Just ignore the ticket and don't answer the door for the next 6 months if you aren't expecting anyone. If they can't serve you they will drop the ticket. Have gotten plenty of those in Phoenix. What area were you in that you got picked off? By the way, the Passport radar detectors do a pretty good job of picking up the photo radar vans in the valley. There is always one parked by my girlfriend's house in Old Town.
