As others have said, taking two spaces even in the back of a big lot is just asking for your car to get keyed. Just put a big sign on the windshield "Key Me Please"

I work at a Power plant and these a-holes in the employee parking always ding up the nice cars! Ive seen a bunch of nice cars F'd up from that place.

I car-pool with a friend who has a nice RSX-s (SC'd, not riced at all). Some retard parked his truck, pushing the RSX's bumper in, and left the 2 vehicles touching. We wanted to smash that guys tail light, but we'll get in fired, so we reported it. No actions taken against the a-hole!

One of my co-workers displays her lack of common sense by parking in the wedge between two spaces fairly regularly. Today she parked between an '80s car and me. I'll have to be careful while backing out... Hate to stereotype, but, yes, she's a blonde.

Another advantage to vehicle film wrapping. Which is probably gonna be how all cars are finished in the future.

This is what my wife is afraid of...I just told her to bring walking shoes if she wants to go to a crowded parking lot...

Taking two spaces tells other people "my car's paint job is more important than you." It's incredibly rude.

Pretty much. If you park normal and someone parks next to you. A considerate person will be extra careful. If you take up two spots it is rude and a lash at someone trying to park their car. Yes, maybe they own a shit box, but it is there shit box, lol.

I always find a curb space somewhere away from the entrance. This guarantees you can at least protect one side of the car. When you hug the curb you also provide ample space between your car and anyone that parks next to you to eliminate the accidental "wind caught my door when I opened it" scenario. The only thing that is irritating with that is when someone figures out what you have done and then parks on the line close to you in order to give themselves ample space on the other side of their car, crowding yours in the process. That really grinds my gears. That's why I park far away on a curb because human nature tends to dictate that most people don't want to walk all the way across the parking lot to enter an establishment when there are available spaces closer to the door. So far, my Mustang has been ding-free since 1991.

It's almost impossible to avoid getting dings. If you park at an end spot or against something, then at least you can park as far away as possible from the empty spot next to your car. That's why people used to stick those plastic strips onto the side of their cars, but it looks like crap.
