We have a stock bottom end YSi automatic trans car that made 808rwhp... That's somewhere in the 880-890 range on boost in a manual trans? Done plenty of 750-800+ rwhp manual trans cars with stock bottom ends... Up at those levels its all about tune, and octane. Don't get me wrong mechanical parts can still fail and in that range you should know that it can happen, but do everything to prevent it (TUNE AND OCTANE)

We went 9.87 @ 136.5mph on stock bottom end with a base ECS SC kit, Alky methanol kit, ARH headers, Pfadt suspension, and a ECS BB cam; Full weight, heads never been off the car.

Motor is still in use, just not in this particular car. No problems at all

This subject has been debated several times. There is no answer, could, should, if , depends on your tune. Go for it, and if something breaks UPGRADE it . I think the 650 mark is where you need to take some precautionary measures .

this is true.

But its hard to say because every motor and car are different. Mine just took a dip and took out cylinder 7.

Now i did beat the junk out of my car and raced this almost every other week. So although there is only 26k miles on the car. They all have been very very hard. You are always taking a risk when modifying and boosting a car especially. Just be prepared as it will happen at some point in time.

some last 5000 miles and others will last 60000 miles... when its your motors time it will happen. Just be ready for it.

For me, I wonder how high to push the power on the stock auto trans. Trans is tuned in by Jannetty but is still stock hardware other than the converter. Upping power is as simple as grinding he restrictor to raise boost, or changing jets to increase nitrous shot size. But how much can the stock auto trans handle?

Mine lived at 650 rwhp with mega track time for 3 years. Then it started to slip the shifts a bit.

With my mods and 12 psi boost and a 100 shot I should be near 650 rwhp. Was thinking of pushing another psi of boost and pushing the shot up to a 125 or maybe work up to a 150 but leave boost at 12. Sounds like trans might not survive it. Line pressure is up so that helps the holding power but......maybe it is maxed where I'm at.

Stock block, stock internals, stock heads, stock intake manifold and throttle body, stock trans, stock diff, stock axles and drive shaft.
Had the procharger and cam for 24000 miles at 11.5 lbs of boost.
Making north of 600rwhp now on 93 pump gas. Seen about 75 passes at the track and still runs smooth and consistant.

I've got 57K miles on my car and I'm @ 622rwhp on 91 octane crap CA gas. I drive it like it was built to be driven and often miss a shift due to operator error and wind it out waaayyyy to far. So far no issues, but I know it won't last forever. I up'd the boost a few months ago and it didn't make that much of a difference due to the poor quality gas we are stuck with out here so I will likely go with meth for added insurance until I figure out what I want to do with my motor in the future.

If you just want 550-600rwhp now, after you get there it will be great for a month or two and then you will want more. Just start putting money back now so you can beef everything up down the road.

Sounds like you needed to work on the tune.

Some will last the first dyno pull or WOT pull, others will last 200k+ miles with hundreds of drag passes. It all depends on the tune and setup. There are LS1s out there which aren't as strong with 200k+ boosted miles, no issues. If you broke a #7 piston, that is a sign of running lean.

So the new AGP kit that has just been released you have 14,000 miles on it already or you just put the kit on a 14,000 mile car

Hope it works out for those who are though, I wouldn't risk it though personally.
