Please never touch your car with a squeegee or water blade. A chamois is also a poor choice. Remember the less you touch the surface the better off you will be.

Use a clean (new) leaf blower and see if that works. I've never not been able to dry a car, but with our crappy water here in the tampa area you never know.

Tampa actually has a very low TDS (total dissolved solids) which determines how hard the water is, how easy it spots and etches. It's usually in the 100-200 range, 500 is EPA max and San Antonio and Vegas is right up there in the 450+ range.

Thanks for all the advice guys! Yeah this is my first new car ever, so I thought the paint protection was a good idea. :o\

I think I'm gonna just take it to a pro detailer to get everything done (clay, polish, wax). I feel like I at least want it done right the first time and I'll just maintain it from there.

So next question... anyone in Tampa know of any good detailers or can can you recommend what to look for in a detailer?

Just my opinion, for the cost you'll be paying the detailer you can probably buy most if not all the supplies ( including a PC ) you need to do the job yourself, between what info that is posted here and video's that are on the net you should be able to DIY.

Please don't do this unless you are TRYING to put swirl marks in your paint. If there is any dirt left on your car the chamois and the rubber water blade will just drag the dirt over your paint and will scratch the paint for sure.

I have not washed my Camaro with water for over 2 years now. I use waterless car wash and microfiber towels. I do use water to wash the wheels and then a leaf blower to dry them. Camaro is now 3 years old and you could still put it on a showroom floor.
